Are you excited for the Glock 43?

Maybe not but there's a difference between "I have a $100. bucks in my pocket" and "I might have a hundred bucks in my pocket, it's not impossible". If a fella says it's 10 million for sure then we ought to be able to show it if said and done.

If it's not 10 but instead 8 million, that seems plenty to brag on without adding an extra million or two for whatever reasons.

Do you want McDonald's to go back and count how many hamburgers they've sold too?

I'll have a new Glock 43 as soon as I can get one. Why? Because I want one; and will admit it.

To me it's just a slim G26, not the true pocket gun in 9mm I have been wanting from them.

Once again they fail to compete with Kahr's subcompact line up.

Micky D's got a big sign out front saying how many they sold. Where is the sign from Glock? If a fella says "Glock sold 10 million" OK let me know where the announcement from Glock is.

That's all.

Saying, "My Uncle Buck figures they coulda sold 10 million by now. Why not? Ain't that good enough." That's nice and all but it wins no bar bets. Not even drunken bar bets.

We have all heard about the upcoming G43, but do you care? I made a quick vid regarding my thoughts, check it out:
Glock 43: Are you excited, or nah?: http://youtu.be/RB9PTS_LMmA
I think Glock struck the perfect balance with the 19/23. I find these high-cap middle weights to be very concealable; if I were to need something smaller, it would be for pocket carry, and a J-frame fits that bill best IMO. The G43 looks too big for a pocket, so if I'm going to belt carry, I'll take the 23/19.

Never could learn to like the Kahr pistols. Nowhere near as reliable as my Glocks and I hate that long as a bad day trigger. As far as "competing" with Kahr; it's unfair. The Glock 43 will in all likelihood eclipse Kahr's sales. Give it 6 months and we shall see.

What could help Kahr out [to compete] would be to include the Gen 2 trigger in with the cheaper models, but that probably isn't going to happen. I would buy a Kahr if they did, but not in its current setup.

^ I also was excited for a single stack 9, but it's a little late now. We have many other options. I have been in the market for a single stack 9 for a while now and I think I also have my eyes set on a Ruger LC9S Pro. I hear nothing but good things about it.

I only had one ftf after the first 10
or so shots with my pm9, 300 or so rounds later I have had no malfunctions. The trigger works fine for me, like a finely tuned DA trigger.

I don't see the G43 as being competiton to the Kahr PM9 because the PM9 is significantly smaller and so in a league of its own.

It never does fail to amaze me that Glock is always so late to the game, or outright refuses to make models popular in demand. Yet when they finally do make something new it is as if they have invented the genre.

Always late to the game? They may not be first to design, but they have certainly been the leader in making whole new genres mainstream. The G19/23 were innovative, mid-sized designs that shoot like a full size with nearly equivalent firepower. The G26/27 were not innovative? Legions consider them the finest carry guns extant. I would hardly consider Glock late to the party. From a company standpoint, one could make a strong argument that few have been more innovative or impactful to the industry.

Does not make models catoring to popular demand? Aren't they a top-5 manufacturer of pistols? Seems to me they fill market demand just fine.

Not always late to the game, just the 9mm single-stack game.

So many other choices out there. The G26/27 may be excellent carry guns, but certainly not the only good ccw out there.

Very late to this particular game. And their entry doesn't look all that strong against guns like the Shield, Nano and LC9s. But we shall see!

".....late to the game....."

I feel like I need to restate a previous post:

I don't see it as "late to the game", but as another gun which may fill the roll better than the others. For instance:

XDs - Slide release is too far back, and causes frequent failure to lock open on last round with my natural grip.

Shield - A decent pistol, but the feel of the grip isn't to my liking.

LC9s - Same.

Sig P938 - Nice feel, but very pricey. And requires extra training to be natural on sweeping the thumb safety off.

Kahr - Some may not be able to get used to the DAO long pull [this will include any of the thin DAO options out there].

I could go on, but the point is, for someone who has yet to find a carry gun which fits them, the Glock 43 may very well be what will work for them. I'll be trying one out whenever I come across one.

Had one in my hand yesterday. Just a thinner version of the G26, laying one on top of the other, it's slide is about 3/16" shorter, ending where the 26 muzzle starts to taper. It fits size wise right in between the 42 and 26. Feels good in the hand.

They'll sell a million of them.

I picked up my Glock 43 today. First impression is the Glock looks ugly...something only a mother could love. But my impression was different once I picked it out of the box. This thing has a great feel to it and fits in the hand nicely. I like how the sights align. I won't have to purchase another holster because it fits in my Shield's holster very nicely. I'm taking it to the range tomorrow and see how it shoots. This is my first Glock

Shot a G43 today - not mine but an LEO friend and range buddy. Before one dismisses it you better shoot it.

Selling my G26 Gen4 and shooting pix this weekend...it's that good. If it works for you. If not good luck with yer other single stack 9mm.

VooDoo

I held one today. As a longtime Glock fan I was disappointed by its size. I was hoping it would be close in size to the PM9. It's almost exactly the size of the K9.
Really. I thought it would be about pm9 size. So it's close the the shield in size?

Shot one today. My range got in 6 and kept 1 for the rental shelf. The 5 were gone within 30 minutes at a retail of $539 I think.

This gun had about 120 rounds through it when I shot it. Very glocky. Good size and weight. If you like glocks you'll like this one. Just a touch bigger than the 42 I think it feels better in hand. Recoil was a non issue and spent cases were ejected with authority. No BTF here. For me it was not as accurate as the 42. More time with it on the range could fix that perhaps. There's not much not to like really.

Would I buy one? maybe. Current retail pricing will hold me back more than whether it competes with xyz gun or whether or not it's late to the party. I like everything about it but the price.
