Are you stocked up for 2024

Ordered another case of 9mm today, hopefully will order another between now and this time next month. That along with what I already had will hold me over a pretty good while if I pace things out correctly. It really sucks to wait til you're down to your last box and then something sucky happens to cause prices to skyrocket.

My weak link was LPP's. I found a brick at Sportsman's last week for $90. They have been my go to the last couple of years, both price and availability.

The older i get, the closer am getting to having a lifetime supply. Even with everything else, we are only an election away from serious supply/regulations. And if you don't reload, that includes being able to afford shooting at all.

I might be stashing stuff too long! I loaded up 200 rds. of .45ACP today, and when I pulled some 185 gr. JHP Sierra bullets out of my reloading supplies the 100 pc. boxes were priced $6 each!

You have excellent personal initiative. If we had Not decided to 'outmaneuver' a somewhat old but functional home heating unit, a case of .308 (for a reserve) would now be processing.:(
Aha, see I ordered this last case before something on my vehicle breaks..... whenever I start to inch ahead financially I spend too much time thinking about what I would like to buy and something in my home or car decides for me and breaks, its pretty much the law, as soon as you start to do well financially some awful unexpected expense crops up....

I feel like all I have done is practice stocking up since March 2nd 2012.

I have done my share and I am at the end of my rope.

This seems to be the only theme of the shooting world, get yours before the next guy so you can be ready for (insert fear driven event).

The world and the country are falling to pieces and no one can tell me who the enemy is only that I need to be prepared.

I am tired of living in a constant state of ambigous fear and dread hoarding what ever the masses manipulate the value of.

Just give Jesus and peace a try.

The frequent panics and the need to stock up are what they are. Frankly, I lay blame at the feet of the gun grabbers. Otherwise we wouldn't feel compelled to go nuts stockpiling stuff.

It is what it is. Make sure you have what you need for the next few years and stop worrying about it.

I dropped some loot at the beginning of the pandemic. Prior to that I bought “something” every paycheck. A brick of 22 lr here, a pound of Varget there and so on.

Well I bet I have 2000 loaded 45/70, 30/30, 30/06. More than that for 308, 223, 22/250 and 35 Remington. I still have 4 cases of LRP and LMRP’s. It’s amazing what you can stockpile in 10 years of “every paycheck buy something”. I’ve had people call me a hoarder, which I gives a dam. Me and my boys shoot all the time. We will not stop/slow down either. I have enough were there kids will be old and gray before they need to slow down.

After organizing my loaded ammunition, my wife warned me that I better shoot it all before I die. I think that makes me damn near immortal.

I came of age as a shooter during the Clinton AWB and Y2K. I pretty much haven't purchased common calibers for shooting in over a decade. I'm well stocked on 5.56x45mm, 9x19mm, .40 S&W, .45 ACP, .38 Special, .45 Colt, .44 Magnum, .357 Magnum, .22LR, .308 Winchester, 20ga, 12ga, and .30-06 Springfield. I put it all cheap and stacked it deep.

Only stuff I hunt for is .38 S&W, .32 S&W, .44-40 WCF, .44 Special, .44 Russian, .32 Winchester Special, .30-40 Krag, etc..... And I have 500rds of .44 Russian on hand right now. But I still hunt for more of it. Why? Because it is a great cartridge for my Charter Arms Bulldog.

As for magazines.... I have enough to last me for the rest of my life and that of my kid's. Same with guns. In fact, I'm giving an AR-15 to a buddy for free and I'm selling off some of my M1 Garands. I now just keep an eye out for guns that interest me. Stuff like a Colt Official Police in .38 Special or S&W .38/44 just because I don't have either in the collection.

What has puzzled me the most is why people bought dozens of mags for a single gun, no matter how low cost the mag (ie German G3 "NATO" mags years ago).

But we aren't allowed to discuss (on THR) what might have been the main anxiety for so many people.
