All AZ administrators and police chiefs have come out strongly against this bill. We had a police chief basically say, "Well, if someone were to use a CCW in self-defense, at a school, our officers would shoot them, so this shouldn't pass."
At which point someone will hopefully suggest "Perhaps a positive policy would be to suggest that your departments officers refrain from shooting a civilian with the intent to kill until they have reasonable cause to believe that the target is a criminal threat."
Or better yet, as Jeff Cooper said it "Never fire until you are sure of your target..."
Or even better yet, remind police officers of that thing called the Second Amendment. "'Normal people' can and do carry guns for the same reason you do".
I gotta ask, wouldn't watching one non-uniformed person actively shooting another constitute reasonable cause to believe they are a threat? What more do you want?
