Hi Guys,
I am getting ready for some accessories and am looking at getting an attachment point for a sling. I have a Magpul CTS stock, so I have a hole for a QD Swivel. I will be using the rifle for HD and hunting. I am probably going to use a 2 point sling. Any advice on which to use? Any advantage to either?

Moved to Rifles, since you're likely to get more useful comments here than in Accessories.

The ASAP is, IMHO, a little bit cheesy, and more importantly it is useless for the more common ways of attaching a 2-point sling. Some people attach a 2-pt with one end at the receiver junction, but not many and for me it doesn't work.

Save your money and use the QD on the stock. Or just use the loop on the stock and save the $13 for a QD swivel. The QD has no benefit if you're going to leave the sling attached most of the time.

For the sling itself, I would look at, in order:
Vickers Tactical
Spec-Ops Gear Patrol Sling
Viking Tactics VTAC sling

All three are quite similar, with the Vickers having the nicest adjustment mechanism and the Spec-Ops probably the best materials. I own the first two. The Spec-Ops is cheapest by quite a bit ($28-30 vs. 40-60 for the others).

All of the Vickers are good and similar. Basically, you decide if you want it padded or unpadded, whether you're OK with acetal plastic for the adjuster or want the original aluminum, and what color you want. I have a padded one with acetal adjuster. The padding is useful but unobtrusive, unlike many padded slings.

Whoops sorry I thought we were talking attachment point.

Hehe, that was the original question... I think it's been answered between the two of us.

Varob, what attachment point do you use?

Lets not make this a Sling thread...

I have the ASAP, but thats for my single point sling. I think I'm going to use the stock mounting points for the two point sling for now, while I try it out . Then maybe look at other mounting options later, if needed.
