Sometime over the last week I've started thinking I really want a Glock 23. That isn't a problem, I love my 27, which is what has gotten me thinking about the 23, but the problem is that I will probably not be able to afford one without selling another gun, and all my other guns I like. I have been thinking that it would be good to stick with one good platform, I shoot my 27 very well, love the trigger, and I like how it carries since it is so flatsided and light, plus the slide is very low profile, a big thing for me.

My guns I could possibly sell are a CZ 97B, but being my only .45 and only steel framed semi I should probably hold on to it, plus I really like my CZs and would like to keep that family together (97B, 40B, PCR, Kadet kit, and 452). I could also sell my USP 40, it is very similiar to the G23 except that it is bigger in every way, but it was my first gun and like my 97B, I think I would be overcome by crippling seller's remorse.

I suppose I could sell off my FNP9-M, it too fills a very similiar role to the G23. But I really like the FNP, it's like a trim version of my USP that is far easier to carry, it literally disappears under a t shirt with my M-Tac for the USP.

I wish I could just get another job, but I have a lot of traveling to do until March so that isn't an option... Should I just buy some 23 magazines here and there and just wait until spring to get one? maybe I will sell that 97B, it is my only .45 and I hardly ever shoot it anymore, especially after an incident last winter where someone else who was shooting it somehow broke the trigger mechanism, I had to tighten up a screw inside it which was simple but it has bugged me ever since, obviously the dummy had no idea what he did to it so who knows if it will happen again.

Opinions?

I feel your pain.

I see a G23 in your future. Just save up and find the best deal. Don't worry, your future G23 isn't going anywhere.

Another thought: Just consider which pistol in your collection is taking up dust/spider webs. Maybe that one is the candidate to leave?

This is good advice. If the 45 just sits because you can't bear to spend twice as much for ammo, maybe it's got to go.

That isn't a bad idea at all, I would be getting the Glock through their LEO/Military program, so it would be the best price on a new one out there, though I plan on blowing the savings on night sights and either a .357 or 9mm conversion barrel.

Higher credit card eh? I actually don't have one except for the Dick's in-store card, maybe I could take advantage of their introductory offers, find one that offers six-month no interest and pay it off first...

I think i will bring my .45 out when I head to my old town tonight, I will see what the interest level is. I am going to miss it if I seel it, but I'll be able to sell to a friend which means I can still visit from time to time :(

Thanks for the help, it's a decision nobody should have to face. My wife keeps asking why I have a sadface, she thinks I'm mad at her and doesn't accept my explanation. I even tried framing it in terms of selling off sex and the city seasons if they cost $500 apiece with no way to see them without buying the set, and she still didn't understand. oh well.
