A local pawn shop has put a ATN ThOR 4 640 thermal scope on clearance for $1,200. Which is an insanely good price for a thermal scope like this.

My one problem is the internal battery. With no way to replace it myself, the scope will eventually become useless and I don't want to rely on having to send the scope off to ATN to replace the battery. Does anyone know of someone who has figured out how to replace the battery or otherwise not make a person dependent on ATN replacing a worn out battery? Thanks.

You can run an external battery pack through a common USBC cable. So if your internal battery ever fails, you can buy a cheap phone charging battery pack and run the scope that way.

While I prefer the AGM Rattler that I have over my buddies ATN Thor, that is an insane deal on a 640 core thermal. Jump on it. Be aware that ATN has had some firmware issues, you might have to flash it back to an older firmware to get it to run properly, based on what my buddy had to do with his. He updated to the newest firmware back in January when we were coyote hunting, and had to roll it back because the new firmware was buggy.

My preference of my Rattler vs. his ATN is mostly based on the size of the display that you are looking at. The Rattler feels like you are looking through a scope. The ATN feels like you are looking at a cell phone screen.

Detection range and clarity were virtually identical, but my image felt larger and closer to my eye. Just easier to see overall. The THOR is also very big and heavy. But very feature rich. I prefer a simpler overall scope as I don't use or intend to use many of the features that the THOR offers. But still, that's an awesome deal on a 640 resolution thermal and you should jump on it.
