HB1902 is being voted on in our state senate today. It will ban ownership of rifle magazines over 10 rounds. It must not pass. Send emails to your state senator and representative to show your disagreement with this bill or we may become criminals without even knowing it. All your AR15, AK, M1A, etc. standard capacity magazines will soon become illegal if we don't stop this bill.

Go to https://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/senate.aspx to find your Senator and representatives email and or phone number and tell them what you think or suffer the ban to your rights.

Thanks for the heads up. I didnt see this till this evening, but it looks like they differed it to the 30th.

At least for now, the Hawaii restriction has a Grandfather clause to allow current owners to keep theirs. But I doubt that will last forever. Everyone's asleep over here on this issue. There are plenty of AR owners but they don't care enough to do anything about it and they keep electing liberals to the State legislature. If this keeps up I will move back to Pittsburgh, although it would have to get pretty bad.

Floor vote is today, but House leadership has already accepted the Senate's version, so it's basically a done deal at the leg. Gov's sig is all that's left. Slim hope is he'll veto because his own AG said it's unenforceable because of the grandfather clause and lack of serial number. About two weeks until Gov signs, but I would place my online orders now. Brownells has good prices on pmags and aluminum.

Happy to report that I was wrong! The Mag bill is dead.

Are you sure of this? I was trying to find the story on the interweb and have not found it yet. I sincerely hope that you are right. I have made calls and sent emails to my representatives and senator to urge them to oppose it but I doubt if they care about my opinion.

I heard the same from a friend, but nothing concrete. I was looking at the bills status and it says deferred a day?

News said the House used a procedural move to shelve the bill. We will probably see the same bill in 6 months so the November election will be critical.

HI is a Dem Gov/Dem House/Dem Senate. I can't imagine why it was shelved. Good for the state though! I lived there for a while when I was a kid right out of the Army and truly enjoyed it. WAAAYYYY to liberal for my tastes. Even back in 1988! Hightailed it back to TX after 9 or so months. A lot of good pakalolo though!

Hopefully, they are learning how much support they will loose by pulling BS like this. I doubt it but just maybe.

I have no answers. We’re lucky enough to have professional lobbyists in HIFICO. I pay my dues and follow their lead.

Lived in Oahu from 1991-1994, good luck in your fight!

Currently in IL, before that Maryland, before that Scotland so... I can't imagine living in a pro gun environment!
