I think the criminal would need a good doctor to remove the hammer spur from his/her eyeball.

Violence Policy Centre executive director Josh Sugarmann said: "This gun is not being made for hunters in Africa. It's being made for bored white gun owners in America. Why are they putting so much fire power into people's hands?"

It seems that me and a few of my shooting buddies who do not happen to be white, but are Christian, conservative, all over 40,firearms instructors should take a group photo of each of us all holding the new gun,and send it to this bozo with a caption saying:

We're not bored,we're not white, but we stand together for our second amendment rights, which you don't seem to understand.

More's Law:
If a little is good
more should be better,
so too much
should be just right!

That said, and fully understanding that it is of limited everyday usefullness, I have to say that they should have every right to produce and market it.
They are in business to make money. If they think they have found a market then they should try to sell a product that will fit that market.
I surely don't want anybody trying to tell me what is more than I need.
I don't care if they follow up with a .60 cal magnum.
Someone, somewhere might just find that they want one for walking around in bear country or as a backup for some nirto express double rifle in Africa.
It might be fun, if they add a good muzzle brake.

According to Garen Wintemute, a gun expert and director of the Violence Prevention Research Program at the University of California, Davis, at .50-calibre, the bullet is about a centimetre wide

I know we've all found it amusing that a "gun expert" could possibly be confused with anybody at VPC, but does anybody else find it funny that this "expert" is telling the Aussies it's really a .40?

FINALLY...

A handgun to match my. 50 BMG.

Do I need it ?...NO

Nor did I "need" the Lincon Towncar I drove cause a Yugo would have worked...

Do I want it ? YES

I want it ..because I CAN !:what:

And to upset people that think its stupid, dangerous and ridiculous. :neener:

WOOO HOOOOOO...income tax return soo to be here...

The same applies though in my opinion for other handgun rounds in excess of 44 magnum. If you think you need a handgun round that powerful, then what you really need is a rifle

The same can be said about archery equipment- if you need anything more than a recurve bow, what you really need is a rifle.
:banghead:

The .44 magnum, though powerful is a pretty much marginal cartridge for big game hunting, that's why we have seen more powerful cartridges come out such as the .454 Casull and .480 Ruger. As big game hunting and handgun silhoutte shooting becomes more popular, there is more of a demand for large bore, high powered handguns.

I don't need a .50 handgun, but if I had the money to burn, I'd buy one just to piss off the liberals.
