I recently purchased an Automag III .30 carbine. It is in excellent condition and appears to have been used very little, if at all. I owned a Ruger .30 carbine 20 years ago and it was a great pistol so when I saw this gun I had to buy it. I took the Automag out and shot a couple mags through it. The last two rounds of each magazine didn't fully eject. Any thoughts? I don't see any reason for this to happen. Everything appears to be in great condition.

hey all , i got auto mag 11 that i cant get to run right ,don\ t know what the deal with auto mags are.

I have an AMT .45 backup that I swear by and rely on. I bought it from a retiring Fed who used it as an undercover, well, go figure - "back-up".

Anyhoo... Without knowing why, I put up with years of folk telling me what turds they were (the AMT's) and how I couldn't count on them in a pinch. Well, I already knew this thing was not only stone axe reliable but oddly accurate to boot so I figured "sour grapes" and moved out smartly.

Then back a few years ago while at the "Big Reno Show" I asked an acquaintance in the position to know, where I could get some proper Back-up mags and he says "let me take a look at the pistol". I got the impression that he was on the verge of regaling me with tales of stainless disappointment but after putting it back together declared it A+. It turns out in a past life he had been employed by AMT to do all the very fit&finish tasks which had been performed on my micro-gat hence the flawless performance.

I guess my point is that after having him go through my 3 AMT's I believe AMT did in fact send out a lot of firearms that while being good start points, just weren't quite finished.

I have an Automag III. I don't have the issue that you have but I can only guess it may be related to your grip. I have seen mine and my Desert Eagle as well choke with new users who limp wrist the handgun causing it to hang up.
Might be worth trying some different ammo as well.

Thanks for the feedback. I thought I would try different ammo. The dealer gave me a box but I didn't recognize the brand. I'll get a reputable brand of ammo and try that. This gun is very accurate and the sights have a lot of adjustment if needed. Love the way is sounds and the recoil is minimal.

change the ammo
change the magazine
clean out all the old lube, shipping preservative, or powder deposits ... not the bore, the moving parts

then we can start troubleshooting an autoloading pistol ... maybe

you are, after all, launching rifle rounds out of a pistol, if anything, there should be extra leftover energy to eject the empties ... so either your ammo is downloaded, something is interfering with the moving parts, or there is something hanging up
things like this are hard to diagnose remotely via text, someone more familliar with the design might need pictures of specific parts/areas to figure anything out
