I inherited an older (1970s) blue Chief's Special that is in pretty good shape, but I'd love to be able to bring it back to "like new". Who out there can tell me the best way to polish up a blue steel snubbie?

bob,
Micro fibre cloth after johnsons paste wax. Rub it down to remove excess oil on the surface, first.

You can also try Flitz paste on your Chief's Special. I used it on a number of rather "tired" looking blued guns, and it did a great job of bringing some fine lustre back to the finish. It is not abrasive and will not remove or harm the bluing in any way.

Flitz products work very well, I've used their polish on several revolvers already.
You can see all their products on the Flitz WEB Site. You can buy right from the site too. Look on their product sheet for their new Rifle and Gun Wax. I haven't used it yet but I hear it's great for Blue guns. I used their Metal Polish on Stainless Steel guns.
