I'd like to glass in my action and possibly free float the barrel. The barrel in question is a full stock, attached to the front sling swivel lug and also sort of inserted into a steel shroud or hood at the muzzle. Would these points where the barrel touches something in the forearm make that not possible?

I'd say you're probably going into experimental terrritory to do something that affects your barrel harmonics. What is the make and model you're doing this to? Let us know how it works out for you.

Model 22F BRNO I was thinking that it might be possible to glass bed the action and remove the barrel, apply a transfer medium like soot or blue Dykum and then relieve the areas on the wood where it touches. That would limit the barrel contact to only those two points it must contact to remain in the stock. I think it would alleviate any shift due to humidity or cold to hot conditions on the fore arm. May not be the thing to do or maybe it may help.
