Because I sucked and they hated me..

HK could just AVOID stupid german laws having their guns made in a FREE country for the rest of the world.. but we suck and they hate us enough not to do this..

I guess I'm missing something here. Do you really expect HK to move their factory to a country more amenable to civilian sales so that you can buy one of their pistols? Hk is in Germany and always has been. HK is not a legislative body that can enact or dispense with laws. I would like to buy guns through the mail like we used to be able to in America prior to 1968. Do I, for instance, blame Smith & Wesson because I can't? What am I missing here?

SwampWolf, I think that people dislike H und K's apparent eagerness to apply German gun laws around the world. Most companies which do business internationally follow the laws of each country for their operations in that country. When a company seems to treat some customers as nobility and other potential customers as refuse, people hold it against them.

Looks good, Shung. Also, because you bought it used, you haven't contributed any money directly to H und K's marketing department. :D

Enjoy your pistol. :)

...and I hope that I haven't spoiled your thread, Shung. It does look like an excellent pistol at a good price, and I hope that you will enjoy it.

I haven't had any trouble either. What parts do you need, I'll see if I can get ya set up. (Send PM)

Alternately? I can dispose of that troublesome gun for ya, and because you're a member of THR, I'll waive my customary fee. <g>

Congrats. !

My only problem with it is the small cal. that you went with.
I don't have much confidence in the 9mm .
I drug crazed purp. can still get at you with a knife even after you double tap him with hollow points.
Not so with a .40 cal. or a .45 !

HK will repair your P9s, I sent one back 2 years ago or a repair, Helmut actaully had to make the small part as it was never ment to be a replacement part. Also has the option to get a new target frame($300-ish)

the USP line is just one of the best darn guns made, I own more than a fair share of them.
