I bet you are a bit embarrassed having a couple of old shotguns like those. I will remove your shame and trade you a new Mossberg 500, straight up, for them.
Beautiful! It still reads Remington on the action bars! Two very nice examples.
The thirty one's straight grip striations would match my nineteen fifty-four seven sixty perfectly.
Thanks, I was delighted to recently discover the classic beauty of the Remington 17. IMHO the 17 can hold its own with any other classic shotgun -- but at a much more affordable price!
I've got one with the spool type handguard that I got when I was 10 (1977) with imp-mod barrel. Used it for many years hunting dove- what a great shotgun! I love the bottom eject- my favorite 12 gauge is the Ithaca 37. The 17 seems like its a rare gun but not really worth much or sought after. I very rarely see them for sale, and they generally have low price tags. I wonder why.
Not many were made to begin with. No choke tubes no vent rib and no 3" chamber will keep the prices down. Used Ithaca 37s with 3" chambers VRs and choke tubes compete with Wingmasters and bring respectable prices. Last one through LGS was 28ga which sold for almost $1000.
