Benchmade 154CM vs. D2

I've got a Mini-Griptillian in 154CM that I just touched up tonight with my fine stones. It takes on an excellent mirror edge with a minimum of fuss, but doesn't seem to hold it as long as I'd like. Do any of you guys (or gals) have a Benchmade with a D2 blade? How is it?

The D2 Grip holds a good edge for a loooong time, but....without a diamond hone I find resharpening time-consuming. The full size Cabela's D2 Grip is my EDC.

I have both ( 154CM 941bc1 and a D2 705) and find that the D2 does take longer to sharpen; I use a DMT fine diamond on both. I also find the D2 is more prone to edge chipping.
