I'm thinking of getting a Benelli M4 for a home defense gun. Can you get a longer barrel for it in case you wanted to do some bird hunting?
Thanks,
Daryl (cwmoss)

You can get accessory barrels for Benellis, but they are usually about 2/3 the cost of the gun.

No, not to my knowledge.

The M4 has only been made in short barrel tactical versions, and as far as I know, has never been offered with longer sporting barrels.

Benelli shows no other optional barrel lengths in the 'extra barrels' section of the website.

Thanks for the replies. I haven't seen any in my limited research. Just thought I would ask.

If you've not handled an M4 extensively, you might want to try. Many folk find them to be kinda clunky compared against the M2 or similar.

Unless you are talking about turkey, the M4 grip is not conducive to good gun handling for birds. You might be able to utilize one of the other models for your purposes.

Again, thanks for all of your input. You can now get a "regular" rear stock M4, one that doesn't have the pistol grip. I have done a bit more searching and have found that a bunch of people are using them for deer and bird hunting. Slugs for deer and finding the right choke for birds. I was never that good at dove hunting, mainly just going with my friends and getting some trigger time.
