I have a new 392 (.22 cal.) that hits so far left that I run out of sight travel when I try to zero it. With the rear sight as far right as it will go, the gun still hits about 2.0" left at 10 meters.
There was some paint in the bore at the muzzle which I cleaned out with acetone and a Q-tip. When the stock open sight would not zero, I installed the proper Williams 5D aperture sight, thinking it would give me more travel. It did but not enough. So far it only has about 30 shots through it, so it's not broken in.
I have not cleaned the barrel as I'm a bit unsure of how to clean a brass barrel without damaging it. There appears to be no simple access for a cleaning rod from the breech and I fear damaging the barrel using a rod to clean from the muzzle. Also, I'm reluctant to use my .22 bore snake as it has some brass bristles in the brush portion. I fear these may also harm the bore.
I'd like to avoid sending it back for warranty repair as the gun does group very well, just not where it's aimed. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there anything I don't know about the 392 that would correct this?
Thanks.
