Looking for input on quality and shooting enjoyment with this gun.Have opportunity to pick one up for very reasonable price for target shooting w the wife to keep good shooting habits and have a lot of fun. Any and all input appreciated please. Need to move fast on decision as it could sell any day.

Some love it. I don't, because the grip just doesn't feel right. Before purchase, have your wife visit a gun store and hold a Neos, then a Ruger Mark III or 22/45, and finally a Buckmark. Then buy the one SHE likes. They are all roughly as accurate.

I like mine. I liked it a lot more when .22lr was 2¢ a round, but I still like it.

As for quality it is very well made, as you would expect from Beretta. The trigger is very crisp, at least mine is after putting 1000 or so rounds through it. Since its recoil is relatively imperceptible, it's a lot of fun to shoot. If you or your wife are prone to the "flinch" it is excellent training for overcoming that. It did for me!

Some people can't get over its weird looks. Weird looking guns appeal to me for some reason. Whether you think the Neos is beautiful or ugly, it's OK with me. I just can't do boring which is probably the reason I don't yet own a Glock. Of course I realize that makes no logical sense.

As I recall they come in two barrel lengths with some color options. I have the shorter of the two, and it's basic black.

May I ask what you're considering paying for it?

Decent trigger though a little bit gritty and not quite as smooth as my Ruger Mk.II. Overall fit and finish is very good and the grip frame feels very comfortable in my hand. Magazines are very well made and easy to load.

I bought the Neos for my wife to replace her junk P22. It has been 100% reliable, is comfortable, accurate, and (as previously noted) has great quality magazines that are comfortable enough to load all day long. The design is also very simple and eady to maintain. You'll be happy with the Neos.

V35, $225 w 3 mags and a carry case. He has two, the 4.5 & the 6" and willing to sell the 6. Looks like new, still in box ect...said he has only run maybe 1k rounds thru it w no jams or issues w ammo he shot thru it. He is a friend of our family I ran into and told me he would buy it back if I was unhappy w it inside of 30 days or so.
berrettaprofessor, my wife is not to picky, she just likes to shoot. She has shot many 22 pistols as we have old Ruger MK1 and shot a SW A22, single six revolvers ect...
Bannockburn, some say trigger on theirs is great, others say a little gritty, have access to a good cheap gunsmith who can fix that issue if need to.
Really appreciate input folks. Hopefully I can repay someday w accurate advice as well. Love this site/forums, have learned so much over the years.

People love them or hate them,,,

People love them or hate them,,,
There doesn't seem to be any middle ground.

Definitely let whoever is going to shoot the gun hold it,,,
The grip is very small and has a radical angle.

I absolutely love my NEOS pistols,,,
They fit my hand well and point very naturally for me.

My only complaint was that miserable front sight blade,,,
I replaced it with this fiber optic from EWK Arms,,,
It mounted very easily and works great.

Hope this helps.

Love mine and I need to get out and shoot it more. They normally sell for $249 to $279. So for $225 with 3 mags and a bag that is a good deal. I have the 6" one with a red dot on it. It shoots well and never any ammo issues.

Check the serial number on Beretta's website as there was a recall a few years back concerning the firing pin. Beretta replaced it with a redesigned one and while I didn't have any problems with the original it was worth the peace of mind to get it fixed.

I agree with most of the other comments. This is my opinion.

Pros

- Well built
- Easy to take down
- Good trigger, better than my mark iii. very crisp, no creep.
- Good magazines, easier to load than my ruger and buckmark magazines
- Inexpensive. I paid $199 for mine new but didn't get 3 mags with it and I paid tax
- Functions as well as any of my semis. Generally any failure is ammo related.
- Ready out of the box for optics

Cons

- funky grip angle (this is a biggie). Doesn't point naturally for me.
- Mags don't work with my ultimate cliploader

If you don't mind the grip angle then I say definitely pull the trigger on this one. fwiw, I like the 6" better than the 4.5".

I like the two I own. I also have the carbine kit, and that makes it a great little rifle. Much shorter than a Ruger 10/22.

I think the Neos is the best budget 22 pistol.

That is without a doubt an excellent price. Anything less than $300 would be reasonable for one in the condition you describe.

Buy both :D Seriously. In the unlikely event you don't like it you can sell it and be pretty much assured of getting your money back.

The firing pin issue is a recall that Beretta will fix for $0 including shipping both ways, whether you're the original purchaser or not.

If yours is one of the affected serial numbers, the decision to have the repair performed or not is up to you. To my knowledge there have been zero discharges or injuries as a result of the defect. It's one of those "in an abundance of caution" concerns.

NEOS, that ugly looking starwars gun?

Yep, have one, love it, fun to shoot, eats everything I have put in it, and when the kids go to the range the all want to shoot it.

Mine is a blast to shoot, accurate and points easy. We throw golf balls out and see how many and how fast you can hit them.

Fun gun and not too expensive.

Ours gets a lot of use and its been great. My biggest con is its the one of the least lefty friendly pistols out there because of the mag release location, and the frame mounted safety rotates the "wrong" way.

As others have said, the grip has a funky angle to it.

My wife wanted one, so we got the 6" non-Inox version. Put a hologram red dot on it. Once you find the red dot, it shoots accurately. You almost have to hold the grip as though you're aiming at the ground 15' in front of you.

Oh, and don't over tighten the mounting nut. IIRC, the directions say tighten til it clicks twice. 3-4 times, and the slide will not move freely. It can ruin a range session, I know. ;)

Overall, I believe it is an excellent in value gun.
