Best bang for the buck firearm? Ones you own or have shot.

Hi-Point (very harshley bashed but awsome firearms and very reliable)

Yeah, I have to second that one. They get lots of undeserved hate. I own a pair of em (one in .45, and one in 9mm) both are very reliable and accurate.

MY SKS, paid $150 for it, its totally reliable, has good accuracy, built like a tank, fires a medium rifle round, has many potential uses, all for $150.:D

a CZ 52 (with additional 9mm bbl, 600 new cases of 7.62x25 brass, 3 mags & dies) that shoots sub 4 inches off hand at 100 yards for $95 ~2003.

Wow, I don't know if my 1.5" Les Baer Premier II Supertac can do that from a Ransom Rest. You're telling me you can shoot sub-4" groups OFFHAND at 100 yds. with your CZ-52? You're awesome.

Anyways, as for the original question, the milsurps have to be the best bang for the buck. Maks, Mosins (especially the Finns), SKS's, etc., they're all built like tanks. For price-performance ratio, they're tough to beat.

maybe he meant 100 feet. even that would be pretty awesome.

Alot of people have already said Mosins and I wholeheatedly agree. Their low price and the easily available (though now dwindling) surplus ammo make for a great shoulder crunching time. An M44 was my first rifle and is what got me into firearms.

Also alot of people have said 10/22s. My 10/22 is cheap, and fun... I'll leave the analogies to yall. Anyway semi-automatic and infinintly available accessories make for a great gun. Whether its a plain jane plinker, souped up target gun, or dressed up baby tactical, you just can't go wrong.

One other "type" of firearm is a great buy:

The gun you give to a son, daughter, grandchild, niece, nephew, or other new shooter as their first gun is a bargain, at any price.

Regards,
Dirty Bob
