Not really.
The 9 mini-meter is marginal for SD at best, and even then that assumes you're using one of the top tier JHP +P loads. Even then it's still iffy, like rolling dice or betting on an MMA match.
Nope, back in the day, the original "compromise" cartridge between the 9-mini and gramp's .45acp was the 10mm AUTO.
And that was always an ironic label for a good reason: the 10mm doesn't compromise itself and needs no reason to.
Those who look at the 10mm and feel a need to "compromise" are called .40S&W fanboys ... just sayin'
