Best concealable 9mm semi

I think the Kahr series cant be beat for conceal carry.. just pick your choice..

for me I am willing to go along with the extra fat to carry a weapon with greater ammo capacity aka double stack..the BHP detective special and Beretta 92fs compact L are sweet ones here..

I'm going to throw a curveball here and mention the Walther P99c. It's the compact cousin of the fullsize P99. I have one in 9mm with the Anti-Stress trigger and it's a fantastic system. Manual of arms is simple simple simple. It appears to be the same size as a baby Glock but maintains a single action trigger.

I vote for that as well. I just sold my Glock 26 that I've had for years and picked up the compact Walther P99

I would vote for the Kahr K-9. I have over 3000 rounds through mine now and it is very reliable, easy to shoot. A great gun for carry.

I'm surprised nobody has chimed in with the CZ Rami. I've been wanting to get my hands on one of these. I like CZ stuff.

I would also vote for the K9. I have the K40 and really like it. I've had no problems with mine. It is a bit heavy but I prefer steel to plastic. It also (especially in the .40) makes it a little easier/comfortable to shoot so you might get in a little more range time than a light gun that kicks.

They are just too expensive for a gun you won't shoot on a regular basis!
How much is your life worth?

$949 for that! Hell, you can buy a Sig P210 or an HKP7M8 or M13 for that $$$.
And a P210 or P7 or M13 is likely to be left behind when deeper concealed is required while the R9 will still be able to go along for the ride.

And out of that short a barrel, I'd like to see the ballistics of how 9mm performs out of a 2.9" barrel.
What ever they are, I'm sure they are superior to a .380 or a .32 out of a similiar size barrel.

I'll throw another vote in for the p7.
They aren't cheap, but if you look around for a police trade in they aren't as expensive as everyone makes them out to be (I've got 3 and have averaged about $650 a piece)[/QUOTE]

Yeah me too.

A P7 BMI police trade in with the flush heel mag release
A hardchromed PSP with the exposed heel mag release
And a P7M13

Got to love the squeezecocker - no more accurate CCW pistol!

thanks - keep 'em coming

Thanks to you all - I now have lots of research to do.

As far as Glock 26 v. Kahr - how much difference can .29" thickness really make? Isn't that worth a few extra shots?

I like the Glock 26. Don't dismiss any gun you haven't held. People said to me the 92FS was too much gun for a lady with small hands, but I'm accurate as Hell with Hogue wrap grips to boot. The Glock conceals well and thickness, like grips, are a matter of preference.

Depends on if you're planning to carry it in your pocket or not. As much as I love my CZ-75B, my PM9 goes everywhere with me.

I have carried a Bersa Thunder 380 for the last yr,it hides well, and is reliable.
My next purchase will likely be Thunder 9 Hi-cap. I already have a 1911 Springer, for nite time carry.

Smith & Wesson 3913.

I have a Chief's Special 9 as well and it is shorter and lighter but I found the 3913 can be concealed just as well.

I am astounded that no one has said "Makarov". Especially if money is an issue. I just got a Bulgarian one 97% condition for under $200. I'm sure they were more like $120 a few years ago, but those days are over. I'm just astounded that no one said "CZ RAMI". I have one in 9mm, they also do a 40sw. The RAMI is only slightly larger that a PT111, or Glock 26, and the RAMI is extremely accurate.

Opps! ANTSI, I missed your reply.

A little surprised no one has mentioned the Sig P239...

utterly reliable
very accurate
rated for +p ammo
1.2 " thick
25.2 oz ( I know there are some a little lighter)
2 mags with 8 rd capacity
priced competively

If 9mm is the round of choice, you may want to do some research, it should certainly be in the hunt if it is going to be a CCW gun.. Choose wisely, I hope your life will never depend on your decision...Best of luck...

Another vote for the 3913. But if you're gonna pick from only the Glock or the Kahr -- go for the Kahr.

Hate to jump on any bandwagon, but I am a recent convert to the Kahr K9. I brought home a used one recently and have been very impressed with the quality, reliability, accuracy and concealability. I very much wanted to like the Glock 26, but found it too bulky. Also, the Glock's grip angle was all wrong for me, but everyone is different.

And so you wanted the best?

For best concealable with best accuracy and best cult-status, best design, best thin profile, best controversial-look (love it or hate it), best keeping it's resell value, but most expensive, you can't go wrong with this gem:

And the best 9mm backup gun for the pocket, IMHO, is this little jewel:

No one can fault this combination, except for the price!

Cheers!

Glock 19

Glock 19--Light, corrosion proof, high capacity, consistent trigger pull, no manual safties to futz with.
