As probably everyone here knows, I am a huge fan of the 3" K frames. They have so much going for them. Slightly longer sight radius. Balances perfect. With a round butt and not having a ejector rod shroud like the mod 13 and 65, they are just about as easy to conceal as a J frame. One HUGE reason the 3" gets my not over a 2 or 2.5" is the full length ejector rod. Empties are kicked completely out every time. Could make a big difference if you needed to reload in a hurry. Plus 3" K Frames aren't seen every day which adds to the cool factor for me. One gun that is overlooked a lot is the Model 64. Same gun as 65 but in 38 special. Since my carry ammo is .38 +P Golden Saber, I carry my mod 64 probably the most of any of my J frames. This is mainly because my 64 has one of the smoothest da triggers I've ever felt. The only gun in the last 5-6 years that has given my 3" K frames any competition is the Kimber KS6. I have a 2" and it has been nothing less than impressive. I hate hammerless guns. The trigger on the Kimber will basically let you shoot SA. It has the flat sided cylinders so it will conceal easily. I have not seen a 3" in person for sale, or I'd probably own one of them. I am waiting with baited breath on the new Kimber 3" DASA with a hammer. As soon as the distributors get some in, my LGS will order me one. It will be the first new gun I've owned in at least 40 years excluding a few collectable Smiths that are old, but NIB. At some point, I'll probably wind up owning one of the new King Cobras in 3" but I'll wait a years or so until the prices drop way down like they have on the Cobras. The Cobra never impressed me enough to go out and buy a new King Cobra.
