This thread is for "The Best Group You've Ever Had" (as stated above) with your rifles. Whether it be at 10 yards or 1000 yards, what's the best grouping you have ever gotten? Please name rifle and post pics of your grouping! I haven't actually tried to get benchrest accuracy with any of my rifles but I am planning on doing that next time at the range.

5 shots at 100 yards of PMP 308 through a Savage 110FP with standard stock and Tasco long range scope - 13/32's of an inch.

No picture of this, but what the hell...

3 Shots at 300 yards covered by a quarter.

Rifle was a 1969 Remington 700 ADL in 30-06 using a Redfield Tracker 4X optic.

It was luck. I was "benching" on the hood of a Jeep with no rest.

I've shot tighter groups since then-- but that was just too cool.

I have no pictures, so you can call me a liar if you want, though I know this is true

Factory Ruger 10/22T w/stock pictanny rail. Leupold rifleman low rings, Nikon Prostaff 2-7X32. 50 yards, 10 shots, .230 group, outside/outside measurment. That right, truly one hole. Did that on multiple occasions.

I still wonder why I sold that rifle.

You SOLD it??????

Wow... I hope you like whatever you replaced it with... :)

10 shots into one inch with a custom Remington 700 built by Marine armorers at Quantico. It had a 3-9X Redfield and Harris bipod mounted and I was shooting Federal 168gr Match ammo. The rifle was formerly owned by a co-worker who served as a Marine sniper in Beruit in the 80's.

You know JWarren, honestly, I sold it for one reason.............

I have this little cycle. "I need a .22!" so I buy one. I do what ever is necessary to the rifle, shoot it, get happy, then decide "I F hate the .22lr cartrige!" Then I sell it. 6 months later, I do it all over again. I guess I am just not quite smart enough to learn from that particular mistake.

I loved that 10/22T. I still hate .22lr. Everything says you should like it. It is cheap, simple, effective. But for some reason, I just cannot manage to keep one.

20 shot group at 50 yards of .4" with my Marlin 925M with 59 grain Federal .22 magnum. Who says .22 magnums aren't accurate?

Sorry, I didnt have my camera, and didnt want to wait to go down range to get the target since I ran out of ammo.

When I first got my M21 back from the build, I took it down to the range. I was in the process of putting 19 of 20 rounds at 100yards in a hole .5moa when I had a flyer..

Here is how it groups now @ 100 yards, after new rings and a sight in. Lower left center mass, 3 shots, upper right three shots (confirmation, 2 clicks left), adjust and on the money last group upper left, to the left with 4 clicks left, also 3 shots

I witnessed Joe F, of Chambersburg shoot abull with his .270. His Daughter-in law, Betsy, next tried the rifle, and touched his hole with hers. I took a turn, and we covered the holes with a dime! Joe built the rifle, and it's a credit to his gunsmithing skills!

Back in the 1980's when my eyes were better. I had a Browning BL22. At 100 yds off of sand bags, iron sights I put 3 in the X ring of the target I was shooting at that could be covered with a nickel. Wish I had kept the target and rifle. Like a fool I traded off the rifle and threw away the target because my "shooting buddies" at the time didn't believe I had shot the group because they didn't witness it.

no pics here but my best group is from a savage .223 55grain sierra blitz king 26 rgains of varget at 100 yards .191 5 shots. My first ever one holer!!!!!

I managed to do a nickel sized 5-shot group with a Remington 514 at 75 yards two weeks ago. Plus all five ejected brass landed "nothing but net" in the trash can behind the benches.

stevens 200 in 7.62x39mm

Nice.

Hey There:
I will try to get a photo later . My best would be just over one hole at 100 meters. but to prove It shot 3 rounds , I try to shoot a clover leaf. i have done this many times. I may be able to find some older photos. I will look.
The rifles are Remington 700 PSS and a Rem. 700 VS in .223.......
My handloads only. I never fire any factory ammo. Most load are 55 grainers but the best accuracy can come from a 40. Nosler BTs or Hornadys .
I run them at 3130 fps. 26" heavy barrels. Very light triggers and 6x24 and 8x32 scopes. My .308 PSS will toss 168 grain NM at between 3/8" and .400" depends on the day and me.

Found some.

Hey there :
I found a few old targets. The newer ones are not here.
The specs are in my last post.

While I've fired some 'tighter' groups with my heavy barrel 10/22 off of a bench, in nice weather, with target ammo, blah blah blah, I'm probably most proud of this one. A buddy of mine had a Savage Tactical in .308 and went crazy one day at a gun show buying aftermarket stuff for it. I put it together for him and loaded up 40 rounds (manual load) for it. He and his brothers came out to my place later to check it out but the weather was on the verge of being crappy already. By the time I got to shoot it, there were four rounds left and it was sleeting rather badly. So, I ripped off the 4 shots as fast as I could work the bolt and get back on target, struggling to see through the precipitation on the scope. Needless to say, I was pretty excited with my target!

That's about 1.3" C-T-C @ 350 yards...so ~.37 MOA.

My best ever group was 10 shots at 150 yards (measured, at a range) with a 30-06 1917, Lyman peep sight, military front sight, handloaded ammo. The group was just a hair over half an inch, and right on target (in the X ring)

Unfortunately, I have since lost the target, this was three or four years ago.

I shot this 3 round goup at 100 yds with my 700 Sendero in 300 WinMag. I fed it 190 grain Sierra match just a tad over 3000 fps.

This 5 round 100 yd group is a little more common for me...

Personal triumphs are the golf ball on a string in high winds at 300 yds and the 1000 yd steel sihouette with full value coastal winds. It's a tough day when you're holding 6 feet off the target and hoping mother nature will push the bullet back where it belongs.

Here is one out of my Rem 700 VLS in 223. .411"

Here is one from my Kimber 1911 15 yards rapid fire.

Here is a 50 yard target from my Remington 511-X it is 5 shots of Eley Tenx ammo. Off the bench.

Fired comp. way back before M-16s. My wife was helping me sight in a Mod 77 Ruger for deer hunting--lol, never could get her to put an apple on her head though. Got it zeroed at 100 yds and then turned it up to 220 yds. Had a roofing tack holding it onto a stake @ center and that was what I was sighting in on. When the target dropped we went out and the bullet had taken out the tack-exactly the point of aim. I still have it in the gun case just to rub it in on my son--which I do every year or two. I used to love painting smiley faces on the "black". Just ticked the coach off. wc

There are 25 shots in this picture. It was a cool day with no wind. I was holding the rifle with my elbows on the bench. Distance was 100 yards and the rifle was my Handi 7.62x39. I was in some sort of "shooting zone" and will probably never be able to do that again. I was so impressed with myself (and knew that my friend at work would not believe it) that I took a picture of the target.
