One not mentioned so far has a scene that will be in my head as long as I will be able to remember. The scene in To Kill a Mockingbird when Peck's character freaks his kids out dispatches the rabid dog with a single, crack shot. I know a gun can be used for fun (Lordy knows I'm guilty of that), but it's main purpose is gelled in that one scene. To protect you and yours.
