This one ought to be fun for everybody.

What do you think is the coolest firearm from a TV show or movie?

Here are 25, off the top of my head; can you think of any more?

Roy Rogers' twin nickel-plated, engraved SAAs

Wyatt Earp's Buntline Special

Lucas McCain's ring-lever '92 Winchester

Paladin's "handmade Hamilton"

Matthew Quigley's custom Sharps Long-Range Business Rifle

Josh Randall's "Mare's Laig" cut-down '92 Winchester

Yancey Derringer's, er, derringer

Captain Call's Colt Dragoon from "Lonesome Dove"

From "Pale Rider", the Preacher's Remington cap & ball"

Outlaw Josey Wales"'s Colt Walkers

"The Man with No Name"'s 1860 Army conversion

The Duke's large-loop Model 92 Winchester

"Dirty Harry" Callahan's S & W Model 29

Eliot Ness's 1921 Thompson

"The Shadow" Lamont Cranston's twin 1911s

Joe Friday's Colt Detective Special .38 snubby

Whatshisname's Colt Python from "Miami Vice"

James Bond's Walther PPK

"The Man from U.N.C.L.E." Napoleon Solo's P-38 with wire stock, extended barrel, hi-cap magazine, scope and silencer

The "Terminator 2" cyborg's Minigun

The assassin's plastic 2-shot derringer from "In the Line of Fire"

Han Solo's tricked-out Broomhandle Mauser--er, "Blaster"

Captain Kirk's Phaser

And don't forget...

James Garner's Sherman from "Tank"

And maybe the ultimate...

"The Guns of Navarone"!

Even an ordinary gun can be made cool by the man who wields it. :) Most of the guns in your list fit this category.

In this category I would place the Beretta 92 used by John McClane (Bruce Willis) in the first two Die Hard movies, and the Colt 1911 used by Stacy Keach in the old Mike Hammer series.

Cool gun by itself: Dirty Harry's Auto Mag in Sudden Impact. It should be noted that although he had had it for some time, he only used it when his Smith got kicked off the edge of a pier.

The pistol that Mr. Scaramanga assembles in "The Man with the Golden Gun"

and we can't forget the M41A pulse rifle from "Aliens" :)

EDIT - add Dekker's handgun from Blade Runner!

on "bonanza", little joe was making a point that some of hoss's ideas weren't so great, and he pulled out one of hoss's inventions to prove the point, a rifle with a curved barrel for shooting around corners.:D

there was more than one actually. I think 4 of them were made. That's probably true of all the prop guns though.

True. If Steve McQueen carried an RG P.O.S., it would be cool (and unlike real life, it would probably work and not explode).

Whatever the hell that was that Deckard (Harrison Ford) carried in Blade Runner. I'm led to believe it was a rifle action with a pistol grip and almost no barrel.

the scary thing about that is that the nazis acctually made curved barrel STG44's for shooting around corners.

Can't remember the movie, but the gun fired an aluminum projectile at near the speed of light IIRC. Either had Van Dam or Arnold in it. Been years since i saw the movie.

Any Colt Walker carried by anybody in any movie.

BTW, Eastwood was carrying a '58 Remington with a .44 Colt cartridge conversion cylinder in Pale Rider. He reloaded twice while walking in the final gunfight. He had a couple of pre-loaded cylinders on his gunbelt. Very cool.

Arnold in "eraser"... you're referring to the rail guns.

I always liked the 1911s Thomas Jane carried as "The Punisher"

or the H&K USPs (highly customized) in "Blade"
