The .50 in "Shooter" was sessy :naughty:

Book >>>> movie, though (ain't that how it always is).

Anyone else here a Stephen Hunter fan?

Even an ordinary gun can be made cool by the man who wields it.

Exactly.

Take a run of the mill P90 or pump shotgun, put it in the hands of a genetically enhanced 11 y/o girl, and you get coolness the likes of:

I have a free dvd from Best Buy that has a full length episode of Gunslinger Girl on it, the words bizzare and idiotic come to mind.

I also forgot to mention my favorite actual movie gun:

You really have to appreciate the story to appreciate the series, and you can't get that from one episode. Its certainly no blockbuster, but seen as a whole, the story and attention to detail with the guns makes it worth watching.

Can video games count? If so, I would like to add the BFG from Doom. Come to think of it, they did make a movie out of it, didn't they? Oh well, I'd still like this to be in reference to the games, since they're just plain awesome.

While everyone's on the topic of anime, I might as well bring up Alucard's gun from Hellsing:

You absolutely must have a ridiculously long barrel in order to kill vampires.

The "Cobra Assault Cannon" from Robocop was pretty cool.

The handguns used by the Street Judges in Judge Dredd.

The hellfire shotgun in Ghost Rider.

if we are talking anime guns. Nothing beats Vash the Stampedes six gun from the Trigun series. Oh anime nerds.

The twin Henry's in Leauge of Extrordinary Gentlemen, the plated 1911's in The Shadow, and the 1911's in The Punisher. Of course John Waynes Winchester, the loop handle one in True Grit, and his beautiful engraved colts you see in The Shootist.

Noisy Cricket-- M.I.B.

The Stereophonic Revolver---Get Smart the orignal series. (R.I.P. Don Adams)

Hellboy's Samaritan .80 cal 4 shot break-top. Already mentioned, I'm adding detail.

Mad Max's sawed of SxS 12 ga.

Sandman flame pistol.--Logan's Run

.47 cal updated Gyrojet-The Adventures of Pluto Nash (A better film than it gets credit for esp if you are of a Libertarian/free-market slant)

Modified Beretta 92s---Equilibrium. Muzzle blast was a cross, just plain cool that is.

Why has no one mentioned Han's Great-Grandson of the C-96 blaster in Star Wars?
Or any of the other great Sterling-derived weapons in that movie?
Oh, and the Captain's 1911 in Saving Private Ryan...
Who doesn't like a .45 that can kill a tank? ;)
I'm sure there are others out there that I like, too...
Just gotta think of them...

i guess my two all time favorite movie guns were ole painless gatling gun from predator and dirty harry's automag "THIS IS THE .44 MAGNUM AUTOMAG AND IF USED CORRECTLY IT WILL REMOVE THE FINGERPRINTS":evil:
