Best new gun of the last decade?

Since I'm only into handguns, especially autoloaders, my vote is for the Sig P365. Unless you need to go down to a pocket pistol, it's the best package yet for concealed carry.
I think it is fair for a person to say "what is best for them". But I would not agree it is he best package for concealment in a 9mm. If it was, I would have bought one.

Ruger LCP is over a decade old so it wouldn't qualify

Shield has sold 3.2 Million in 8 years and really ignited the modern CCW Single Stack class so I would nominate it as the most important new firearm of the last decade. I can't think of any new long guns as influential.

PS I highly doubt the P365 or Hellcat would exist if it hadn't been for the Shield. They are essentially a response to the desire for higher cap in the market the Shield created (yes I know compact single stack striker guns existed prior to the Shield but it's the one that exploded the category).

Actually Ruger LC9 was released in 2011 and gave the CCW Single Stack class more exposure to the public. And again, just a refinement of the Keltec and more money in ads. The Shield was not released until a year later feeding off the Ruger. And which is the best comes right back to personal opinion not fact. And then another Gen the LC9S was released. I have no idea which sold the most, could care less as that deals with more than just the quality of a firearm. Marketing, etc all plays in that. I had a LC9, bought a Shield and then a LC9S. I liked the Ruger better but that again is just personal opinion. Actually like the Kahr better than all of them and the PM9 was introduced in 2003. What ignites the population for a given time does not mean the best.
The Need or desire for concealment ignited all new small guns in both the 380 and 9mm. .
Not one particular firearm. But "Marketing" needs to be put into the equation, who is the best Marketeer and who spends the most dollars.

If by "ignited" you mean three million people bought S&W Shields because Smith offered a $75 rebate coupled with dealers and distributors dumping them below cost? Then yeah, I agree.

It cost Glock $70-80 (total cost including design, tooling, marketing etc) to build a G17/19. You really think a Shield cost more?

I didn't mention anything about whether a Shield cost more or less than a Glock, in either case its irrelevant. But when a manufacturer has to resort to rebates to spur sales it's a hint that the firearm was overpriced to begin with.

I would not be surprised to see another revolver trend come along soon. I have haunch pistols with cuts for Mini red Dots will be the next fad. I think the K6 revolver and the Hellcat took honors in the past year or two years. Going back a whole decade would take some time to figure out.
And again, no substantive criteria can be established other than personal opinion.

Posted this and thought maybe I was right. New SCCY with RED DOT installed from factory. I do not know much about these firearms, not interested in owning one, but thought that a gun shipping with a red dot already cut and installed does give a idea of what the new fad or innovation is which again goes back to the Hellcat. Have a feeling the Red Dot will be very popular much like the Lasers. That said, I bought a laser and quickly took it off. Hated them. The RD might be different. At least will keep a open mind.

Sccy with Red Dot and 10 rd magazine-small micro, 17oz.Hammer fired DAO with restrike capability. I would at least like to shoot one to see how they do.

Prob started because the G26 holds 10 rounds, so that became the benchmark... Just my unfounded guess.
10 rounds is a line of demarcation for guns because it’s a legacy of the 1994 AWB and has been replicated in several states. The G26 holds 10 rounds because that’s all it could legally hold when it was released, and that’s the largest you can buy new in many states today.

Guns with the most impact in the last decade:

AR15 (both in sales and infamy)
Shield
P365
Ruger American
Shockwave shotgun
Sig brace and the explosion of the faux SBR market

The Sig P-365 and Ruger RPR are both good choices for gun of the decade that changed things for their categories.

The Shield came first, but the Sig got it right, with more capacity.

I think the last decade can be categorized as the concealed carry decade. Guns have been getting smaller with higher capacity throughout the last decade, culminating with the P365 .

Ok let me Rephrase this

WHAT FIREARM HAD THE BIGGEST IMPACT IN THE GUN WORLD IN THE LAST DECADE?

Just start a new thread, for that one.

If I had to choose a firearm, I'd say the Kimber K6s. It's the only recent, or "new" forearm I have bought, lately, with any innovation I can honestly place in this "decade". It brings a lot to the table, which involves many of us.

It's dedicated to conceal carry
It's Stainless, but brushed, an attractive low gloss finish
It's six shot
It's .357, presents both structural strength and two caliber options
It's got great sights
It's got a world class DA trigger
It's got a specifically snag-free profile
It's a revolver, hammerless, and well-made

OTOH, this issue, as many have stated is subjective. IMO, certain improvements, like Ruger's MKIV take down improvement, or the Blackhawk Hunter's
beefy scope mount, rate attention, as well as many other optics and other improvements in design, which don't or shouldn't neccessarily point to just one firearm.

Hard to quantify - a buddy just said to me if we define it by introducing more people to the shooting sports then SCCY, G2C, or SEC9.
