Best Pocket Carry in 9MM ?

The G26 is 6.29" long and 4.14" high and 1.18" thick

I'm curious as to what kind of pocket that goes into.

A cargo pocket?

Do you wear Carhhartts or Dickies pants?

No - I wear khaki shorts or normal hiking shorts from REI or just standard khakis - the G26 fits fine.

I never carry in a cargo pocket too much flop and the draw is awkward.

Yes there is a bulge, but it just looks like a big wallet. People, friends and family have no idea.

FWIW - the carhartts are horrible for Pocket carry - they are like jeans and the pocket is tight.

Here is what I wore today:

Folks seem to be forgetting that carrying is supposed to be comforting and not always comfortable - if you can dress around the gun then you can have it both ways though.

Here is a quick comparison for you: the G26 vs the undisputed king of pocket carry the J frame:

The Glock is not that much bigger when you factor in cylinder.

At over $1,000+ and twice the price of a G26, I'd still personally take my Glock any day over the R9... Much much more versatile handgun.

That versatility doesn't include dropping into the front pocket of a pair of business slacks.

I carried my R9 at a business conference in a DeSantis Nemesis. I had to be careful when sitting down to make sure the pistol slid to the side instead of sitting on top of my thigh, but other than that, the R9 was undetectable.

Besides printing, there is a limit to how much weight you can carry in the front pockets of business slacks - my business slacks won't take a 1.5" wide belt, but even if you can get a rigid, high quality 1.25" belt capable of holding your pants (and a gun) up - even if you wear dress suspenders, there is a limit to how much weight you can have in your pockets in business attire.

Not to say that I'm recommending that anyone go out and buy an R9.

I know at least 1 person who needs warranty work on his R9 and the wonks at Remington are not helping him at all.

I thought the Rohrbaughs would be around to get Remington's production line up and running and to do knowledge transfer.

But I don't think they're going to be around ensuring quality or anything like that.

Just looking at the R51 debacle, I don't think Remington has people who know how to make guns. BTW, making a functioning 1911 (a design that is over 100 years old) - does not count.

I think they'll roll out their acquired R9 at SHOT or the NRA convention, and the things will probably work on media day, but I definitely won't be first in line to buy the regular production guns.

I had a Kahr MK9 for several years. Great little pistol, reliable and accurate, kind of borderline for pocket carry in blue jeans, though, because of the weight (it's all steel).
