I'm new to reloading and am coming to the realization than the supply end of this venture is kinda tough to deal with.. At leaat here in Dayton OH it is. The stores that do have bullets ONLY seem to carry hornady and a couple others and brass is a crap shoot. So my question is where do u guys do ur online shopping at? I have been going to a gunshow that comes around once a month for supplies but won't have money this weekend to get any and don't want to wait a month. Any info will be greatly appreciated, thanx

Im in Dayton too, Country attic general store in south lebanon is a good spot. I haven't been to their new store but last I saw, they only carried hornady bullets and reloading gear. The new cabelas in Bellbrook(well, actually centerville:mad:) has a pretty good selection. What kind of bullets you shoot? powdervalleyinc.com generally is the cheapest and a good place to deal with. RMR bullets also carries a lot of cheap pull/blemish/overrun bullets as well as their own new production bullets for cheap. xtreme, missouri cast bullets. Lots of good places out there.

If it is pistol or 223 brass you are after, go down to the spring valley dnr range on a weekday and collect brass when the range is cold or nobody is there. Lots of brass on the ground out there.

Also check out armslist. seems most people selling in ohio are in the dayton/cincy/cbus area.

Old English up north of dayton carries reloading supplies but they are kinda expensive.

Check the components availability sticky up top for good deals on more common bullets.

Look at the "sticky" at the top of the forum entitled, "Where are there reloading components for sale?". It will contain the most comprehensive list.

Welcome to THR.

Welcome to the Handloading & Reloading forum.

There's a lot of good information available from experienced people who are willing to share that knowledge. With rare exception, "dumb questions" are answered kindly by people who know what it is like to be in your shoes.

Please read the "sticky" topics at the top of the first page since they will answer most of the common questions.

Please purchase a reloading manual (most of the people on this site seem to like the one published by Lyman, while I like the one published by Hornady) but whatever you buy, read it thoroughly. Reloading becomes dangerous when you are cavalier about the risks. Follow a reputable manual and you should never have a meaningful problem.

Academy is kind of limited on all of the goodies, but free shipping on orders over $25 gets me every time.

(I didn't read any responses, just guessing no one mentioned it) If you have a local gun show I would check there. I NEVER thought to look at a gun show for powders for some reason and before I started reloading I must have missed them all cause when someone told me that I thought "Ive been to dozens and never seen powder, etc". Turns out there were 3 booths and 2 were local businesses that they dont even have websites so they don't show up on the web when I previously searched. If you're lucky you'll figure out there's a shop within 10 miles that you didn't even know about

I know you asked for websites and you probably already checked gun shows but just in case you didn't... You dodge hazmat and shipping. Sometimes it costs a little more "per bottle" but it comes out cheaper for smaller purchases. If you plan on buying bulk then online with a single hazmat usually works better though
