Another IRA Song

Well I leave behind my Mary
And I leave behind my plough
'Cause I'm off to join the IRA
Down in Dublin town
Where the bayonets clash
And the rifles crash
To the echo of a Thompson Gun!

Or for something a bit more contemporary

"Ya stay with 16 homies, and one in the hole
When the first one gets out, the next one goes
To know where ya headed, ya gotta know where ya been
The Glock stay with me, we's friends to the end"

(50 Cent ---My Buddy---)
One of the more printable verses

Hopefully I didn't repost this as this thread is kinda ancient

Tommy Gun

+1 That's When I reach for my revolver - Mission of Burma
+1 Happiness is a warm gun - Beatles
+1 Anything by Johnny Cash
+1 Guns of Brixton - The Clash

And Tommy Gun by the Clash

Tommy gun
You aint happy less you got one
Tommy gun
Aint gonna shoot the place up
Just for fun
Maybe he wants to die for the money
Maybe he wants to kill for his country
Whatever he wants, hes gonna get it!

Tommy gun
You better strip it down for a custom run
Tommy gun
Waiting in the airport till kingdom come
An we can watch you make it
On the nine oclock news
Standing there in palestine lighting the fuse
Whatever you want, youre gonna get it

Tommy gun
Youll be dead when your war is won
Tommy gun
But did you have to gun down everyone?
I can see its kill or be killed
A nation of destiny has got to be fulfilled
Whatever you want, youre gonna get it!

Tommy gun
You can be a hero in an age of none
Tommy gun
Im cutting out your picture from page one
Im gonna get a jacket just like yours
An give my false support to your cause
Whatever you want, youre gonna get it!

Boats an tanks and planes, its your game
Kings an queens an generals learn your name
I see all the innocents, the human sacrifice
And if death comes so cheap
Then the same goes for life!

"Railroad Bill"

"Got me a .38 special on a .44 frame, nobody gonna shoot me cause I got dead aim"

Kid Rock - Cowboy

No kidding, gun slinging, spurs hitting the floor

Flogging Molly - What's Left of the Flag

His eyes they close
and his last breath spoke
he had seen all to be seen
a life once full
now an empty vase
wilt the blossums
on his early grave

walk away me boys
walk away me boys
and my morning we'll be free
wipe that golden tear
from your mother dear
and raise what's left
of the flag for me
then the roserly beads
count to 1 2 3
fell apart as they hit the floor
in a garb of black
we must pay respect
to the color we were born to mourn
walk away me boys
walk away me boys
and my morning we'll be free
wipe that golden tear
from your mother dear
and raise what's left
of the flag for me

In a spiked ruin
an angry festered wound
full of hatered and remourse
where I pick and scratch
at the blooded mess
silent rage that now fills my lungs
for there are many ways
to kill a man they say
with bained axe or sword
but son a bullet fired
from a shapeless gun
just put the shell of a Thompson gun

part of -Rest in :cuss: by brother lynch hung

"cuzz it's EBK everyday all day to the day I die
I'm creepin through yo set with a mini mac 10,

"My Father's Gun" & "Son of your Father" both by Elton John, from "Tumbleweed Connection" album.

"From this day on,
I'll wear my father's gun.
We dug his shallow grave beneath the Sun.
We laid his boken body down, below the southern line.
It wouldn't do to bury him
Where any Yankee stands."

"I'll take my horse,
And I'll ride the Northern plains.
To wear the color of the Grey's
and join the fight again."
"I will not rest until, I know,
the cause is fought and won"
From this day on, until I die
I'll wear my Father's gun."
"I'd like to know where the river boat sails tonight
to New Orleans, well that's all right, tonight.
so slip us the rope, and sail all round the bend."

'...kind of evil make me want to grab my sub-mo-chine.'

Delia's gone by Johnny Cash

Somebody said the thing about gun/murder songs and Johnny Cash is that the killer never walks away without consequences of some type ---that's how it differs from many 'gangsta rap' songs.

Banana's At Large

Turdy Point Buck

"my stomach was tied into a monkey knot.
Ya, my only hope was Betty Lou,
she was the one,
a combination AK 57 oozie radar laser triple-barrel double-scoped hit-seekin shotgun.

NonPoint- Bullet with a Name

My disposition is in a position for all to see
Regretless for how it feels

I got a bullet with a name on it
Bullet with a name

Becuase the cause of all the pause you think you see
Is really concentration on the steel

I got a bullet with a name on it
Bullet with a name

See everybody watching and passing judgement on
Every little move and decision I make
How can I be an individual with the weight of the world
With 8 other planets to take
And with everything happening, gunshots clappin
And people all running in every direction
With their hands up prayin for the drama to end

I got my hand out lookin for some money to spend
The price tags on the things I need are getting bigger by the way
I got a bullet with a name on it
Bullet with a name
The way i work so hard for things, they just take away from me
I got a bullet with a name on it
Bullet with a name

I'm workin harder than 100 black mules outta Mexico
No water, no clouds, no cover
From the hotter than hell, no dinner bell
Empty oven again from another bad opinion
I mean who doesn't want the cars, money, fame attention, bars, honeys
Games, attention, stars, funny how we saw we don't need it
Then turn around and try to achieve it

Everything that they say about me
The price tags on the things I need are getting bigger by the way
I got a bullet with a name on it
Bullet with a name
The way i work so hard for things, they just take away from me
I got a bullet with a name on it
Bullet with a name

And everything that they say about me
And everything that they make me need
Are nothing when they're taking everything away from me
Everyone trying to make it harder, and everyone saying I would never be
You're nothing but a name, on the bullet that I aim...

Johnny Cash ~ Cocaine Blues

Just because J.C. is that MAN!

I know that nobody here has heard of it, but I've always been partial to Al Stewart's, "Roads to Moscow."

Roads to Moscow
Al Stewart
They crossed over the border the hour before dawn
Moving in lines through the day
Most of our planes were destroyed on the ground where they lay
Waiting for orders we held in the wood - word from the front never came
By evening the sound of the gunfire was miles away
Ah, softly we move through the shadows, slip away through the trees
Crossing their lines in the mists in the fields on our hands and our knees
And all that I ever was able to see
The fire in the air glowing red silhouetting the smoke on the breeze
All summer they drove us back through the Ukraine
Smolyensk and Viyasma soon fell
By autumn we stood with our backs to the town of Orel
Closer and closer to Moscow they come - riding the wind like a bell
General Guderian stands at the crest of the hill
Winter brought with her the rains, oceans of mud filled the roads
Gluing the tracks of their tanks to the ground while the sky filled with snow
And all that I ever was able to see
The fire in the air glowing red silhouetting the snow on the breeze
In the footsteps of Napoleon the shadow figures stagger through the winter
Falling back before the gates of Moscow,
Standing in the wings like an avenger
And far away behind their lines the partisans are stirring in the forest
Coming unexpectedly upon their outposts, growing like a promise
You'll never know, you'll never know
Which way to turn, which way to look, you'll never see us
As we're stealing through the blackness of the night
You'll never know, you'll never hear us
And the evening sings in a voice of amber, the dawn is surely coming
The morning road leads to Stalingrad, and the sky is softly humming
Two broken Tigers on fire in the night flicker their souls to the wind
We wait in the lines for the final approach to begin
It's been almost four years that I've carried a gun
At home it'll almost be spring
The flames of the Tigers are lighting the road to Berlin
Ah, quickly we move through the ruins that bow to the ground
The old men and children they send out to face us, they can't slow us down
And all that I ever was able to see
The eyes of the city are opening now it's the end of the dream
I'm coming home, I'm coming home
Now you can taste it in the wind, the war is over
And I listen to the clicking of the train wheels as we roll across the border
And now they ask me of the time
That I was caught behind their lines and taken prisoner
"They only held me for a day, a lucky break", I say;
They turn and listen closer
I'll never know, I'll never know
Why I was taken from the line and all the others
To board a special train and journey deep into the heart of holy Russia
And it's cold and damp in the transit camp, and the air is still and sullen
And the pale sun of October whispers the snow will soon be coming
And I wonder when I'll be home again and the morning answers
"Never"
And the evening sighs and the steely Russian skies go on forever

Cheryl Wheeler "Don't Forget the Guns"-even if she meant it as sarcasm, it's describes my families road trips prefectly!

Now let's get the kids and pack up the car
Take that vacation we've been waiting for
Drive across this country leave our worries far behind
Singin' four-part harmony to "sweet adeline"

`Cause I got these books and maps from triple "A"
We'll visit friends and sites along the way
So bring the bikes and toys and diapers
Pay the neighbor's son
And call to stop the mail and, honey,
Don't forget the guns

(Chorus)
Now don't forget the guns you know exactly what I mean
Bring the pistols, bring the uzi and the old AR-15
We don't look for trouble but by golly if we're in it
It's nice to know we're free to blow nine hundred rounds a minute

We'll head for Chicago, stop for the night
Hope for good weather hope the kids don't fight
They've never seen mt. Rushmore and they ought to understand
The kind of men who forged our freedom all across this land

We'll hike up a trail and ride down a street
Stand by Old Faithful and watch her blow off steam
When we pack picnic lunches that's not all we'll bring along
`Cause we'll be packing 45's case anything goes wrong

(Repeat Chorus)

Oh riding along we'll follow the sights
Over the mountains under the pines
Up to boot hill where they got what they gave
In the land of the free you've got to be brave

(Repeat Chorus)
