I injured my hand last year and afterwards I have had trouble with the small grips on my Taurus M85. It has Pachmayr Compac grips on it because the originals were too small when I got it, but now they're too small.. Does anyone make a full size grip for this little gun?
Thanks

I ordered a larger pair for my Model 85 that should show up today or Monday. Small world, I broke a finger and now the tiny boot grips are hard for me to hold. I'll post a pic as soon as they come in. Also, the original wooden grips are a dime a dozen and at least cover the grip frame.

The Pachmayr Compacs are the biggest I can think off off the top of my head for the Taurus small frame. Pachmayr makes the Gripper for the S&W J-frame, which is clownishly large for it. It might be adaptable to the Model 85. (Cross compatability is a "sometimes yes, sometimes no, not always well when it does" thing.)

Also maybe check out VZ Grips.

The Hogue is not all that big a grip. IMHO & YMMV. And the finger grooves don't fit me well.

Yeah, I think the Hogue Monogrip is longer but not really larger in circumference. I have not handled the Pachmayr Compaqs for smaller framed guns so I don’t know how they compare.

I put Grippers on my 3” 36 because I do not carry it and the gun is much easier to shoot with them on. Like the name says it is a softer compound with checkering molded in, so it would snag on pocket material if it was drawn while pocket-carried.

As was posted above it is clownishly large ( :rofl:great description!!) but it does make it easier to shoot.

Good luck finding a solution!

Stay safe.

The Pachmayr 03396 Compact Grips were among the best for the original Taurus M85. But the Uncle Mike's for the 85 were my favorite. My ex has an old M85. We tried several grips back in the day, but she's very petite with small hands, so she still uses the original wood grips with her stainless 3-inch barrel 85. I tried to get her to like the Uncle Mike's grips, but no dice. They just didn't work for her.

I recommend the Uncle Mike's grips, but they're about as impossible to find as the Pachmayrs these days. I've had the same Uncle Mike's rubber grips on my old 6-shot Taurus 66 since the early 1990s. They're in great shape. I have been looking for a New-Old-Stock pair to have as spares, but no luck so far.

The M85, old version and new, is a nice little handgun.
