Ruger..
You can find many references to quality and sales on their website,
for YEARS running...
They are #1 for a reason.
The best out of the box and easily tricked out if you feel the need.
what list of Bud's are you looking at. Is it a list of guns sold on Buds website?Just curious who the largest firearms manufacturers are in the U.S. Some sites are saying Ruger, but BudsGunShop says they are only #4.
Overseas is it mostly FN and Glock?

I wouldn't put much stock in that link. They go on to say Ruger has a limited lifetime warranty, which they do not. If they can't get the warranty info right, I don't expect any of the other info to be correcthttp://www.budsgunshop.com/catalog/index.php/cPath/21_49/Ruger/
^Budsguns saying Ruger is 4.
As far as Ruger being the best I hardly think so. They put out a good product but are often eclipsed by others in my opinion.
Sturm, Ruger & Company, Incorporated is a Southport, Connecticut–based firearm manufacturing company, better known by the shortened name Ruger. Sturm, Ruger produces bolt-action, semi-automatic, full-automatic, and single-shot rifles, shotguns, semi-automatic pistols, and single- and double-action revolvers. Ruger is the fourth largest firearms manufacturer in the United States. Ruger firearms have a limited lifetime Manufacturer Defect warranty
Ruger by a small margin over Remington according to the pdf linked here. If you wanted to call Freedom Group one company I think Remington/Marlin/NEF would probably be over the top.

Depends: Are you talking units made? gross sales? Profits and stocks?
As mentioned, if you consider the freedom group conglomerate, they are #1 in all categories by a long shot. But that is a dozen companies rolled into one:
AAC (Advanced Armament Corporation)
Barnes Bullets
Bushmaster
Dakota Arms
DPMS s
H & R / NEF
Marlin
Para USA
Parker
Remington
TAPCO
That's a very subjective opinion.
Truth is, Rugers offer very good value, but they don't make the best anything.
The former Freedom Group (Remington, Marlin, Bushmaster, DPMS, etc.) IS now Remington Arms and it's that concern that's the biggest private gun maker in the world. Considerably bigger than Ruger.
Nonsense. They make quite a few which might be considered "best" for their price range. They certainly make the best single shot rifle in its price range. The best single action revolvers.Truth is, Rugers offer very good value, but they don't make the best anything.

Freedom Group is not 'a' gun maker.
Ruger is the largest and most successful. Despite what their critics have to say, they must be doing something right to have made a profit every year since 1949. They operate on cash and have no debt.

im a bit of a ruger fan boy. but ruger is probably the best affordable manufacturer that produce more than one style of product
Overseas is it mostly FN and Glock?
Most likely Beretta
don't forget the Russians
