Blackhawk .45 Colt on layaway... should I get the 44 Spec?

I guess .45 Colt was my first love - my first cartridge to reload, too. Below is the '01 vintage 625MG my wife shocked me with eight years ago. It chased a bucket full of Rugers, SA & DA, out of my house - invited a sibling MG to share the .45 duties some years back. It also welcomed that Puma 24" SS M1892 in .45 Colt eight years ago in January - it came pre-drilled/tapped for that Marbles Tang Sight, which it has worn since it arrived. Fun combo - anyone can pop a shotgun clay at 100-110yd with the combo.

Yeah, it's hard for me to speak poorly of the .45 Colt...

Man that post before Stainz's was hard to read. Somebody please give that fellow a bucket full of commas and periods.

44 is a dying caliber
I think not. ;)

I like the 44 Special but theres really little difference. The short blued 45 Colt at 36 OZ. is easy to carry in the field. It is a bit bigger than the Flat Top 44 Special. I prefer the smaller grip of the Flat Top. See which one feels the best for you. BTW, I heard they are going to make the Flat Top in 45 Colt and 41 Magnum.

No, you bought the .45 Colt, which in a Blackhawk is superior to a .44 Spl. Take your money and buy some good reloading equipment and some good Keith style .45 Colt moulds and get plenty of range time.
