Bluing turning brownish

On one or my remington 700 the bolt handle bluing is turning brown is there any way to clean this without removing the bluing or how to stop it

Oil it and buff with 0000 steel wool soaked with oil. Just be aware that a light touch is enough.

Acetone it and drop it in a pot of boiling water until it turns black.(5 mins or so) Then buff it with 4aught and oil.
