Bobbed hammer for N frame smith

I would like to get some work done on a 629.
I would like to get the hammer bobbed but I like the DAO type of hammer that is flush with the frame. not just cutting off the spur.
I have an SP101 with this type of hammer but I can't seem to find one for a S&W.

Send it to Apex Tactical. Randy Lee redesigned the hammer altogether and it's allowed them to do some incredible things with a revolver's action. Or, you could just buy the hammer, and install it yourself, or by a local 'smith. You'll also need another sear, and a few other small parts.

Another option is to send it to Mike Carmoney, who specializes in radically bobbed hammers and action work for competitive wheelgunners.

I'm a fan of radically-bobbed hammers, btw. The lighter weight allows the hammer to travel faster, so it retains it's kinetic energy (and reliability) at a lower pull weight and quicker lock time. The lighter hammer does, though, give up momentum, so it jars the frame less upon hammer strike, which helps accuracy. Check out this demo.

Cruising over to Carmoney's place on the BE forum, I see he's not currently taking work.

9mmE's photos reminded me to ask whether your 629 has a frame- or hammer-mounted firing pin, since Apex hammers are compatible with guns with frame-mounted hammers. If you want the stock hammer trimmed flush with the frame, your gun will need to have a frame-mounted pin, too. As you can see in his bottom pic, you can only take a pinned hammer down so far.
