The way I carry on my hip, or maybe it's my choice of holsters, however, I never get "stabbed" by the hammer spur. I was listening to a couple of guys this weekend discuss "bobbing" a MIM hammer on a revolver. One guy insisted that if you did this, you would weaken the hammer due to a surface coating (like case-hardening) being taken off. ~~Truth or fiction?
Oh, by the way. He still wanted to be able to cock the hammer with his thumb, it's just that he wants a slightly shorter, "less sharp" hammer. ~It looked to me like he was being stabbed in the...ahem.."love handles". He definitely could have benefited from dropping a few pounds.
