So what gun/gun-related stuff are yall excited about getting this year?

My birthday is so close to Christmas that I quite often get a birthmas gift. This year it’s a tabletop mini-lathe. I picked it up today, and I’m hoping to get it set up and dialed in this week, but work is still humming along so I may not get much opportunity. I will post pics when I get it dialed in. Luck was with me because when I headed from my warehouse to pick up the lathe I stumbled across a road-treasure in the form of a 2-3/4 piece of d2 bar stock 10 inches long. It may be a bit much for my little lathe, but if it is I can send it to a buddy as knife blade stock.

Well, I’ve asked Santa for a laundry list of projectiles. And brass. And a Wilson trimmer. And a new bottom metal for my Howa. And a borescope and… no I’m not greedy. lol. This year my kiddo(4) is very excited about Christmas and about getting nearly 2!weeks with dad(and I’m looking forward to it as well) so I’m prepping a little BB gun range to help her get started out. And she’s going out with me muzzle loader hunting. And honestly, those Christmas plans really excite me! But I’m expecting most of what I find under the tree will be gun and reloading related.
I might add as a PS, I did make a special request for Jeff Siewerts book “ammunition demystified”…

Mom always gets me some type of outdoor shirt. Other than that I've had a big buying year myself so except for the Kids and Grandkids I'm probably done until after the first.

Every Christmas Eve since 1988, I have left a pack of cigarettes, a pair of shoes, and ammo in my ductwork for John McClane. I was told that if you do so he will leave a shiny new HK MP5 under the tree for you. Hasn’t worked yet. Hoping this will be the year!

Im also in Ky and my birthday is 2 days before Christmas. So many times as a kid, I would get a christmas present from an aunt or grandma with a tag that said Merry Christmas in 1 color ink and a hurriedly written Happy Birthday in a different color. It was not funny as a small child but hilarious to think about now how they would remember my birthday on the way to the family christmas get together and have to quickly write happy birthday on my christmas present.
I dont really ask anyone for christmas presents nowadays but Im kinda hopeful someone gets me some more reloading components, particularly primers. We shall see.

5.5" Ruger NV SS in 45C w/ dies and Elmer Keith SWC mould. Custom std size grips on order but haven't come in yet (staghorns). Cross draw holster for the NV.

Restocked some powders I was getting low on - IMR 4350, W231, and A#5.

And a box of 454C brass from starline so's I can trim down and use SPP w/ the 45C.

40# of #2 alloy - WW stash was about gone and haven't taken the time to find more.

Moma got a new German Shepard puppy to house break.

Price point was about the same for both of us.

I did some trading and picked up a Fostec Echo II AR 2-shot trigger. I installed it yesterday and shot it. It's odd - but I wanted to try it out.
If nothing else the semi-auto trigger is decent.

I also picked up a Sylvan Arms Folding Buffer Tube Adapter. I haven't installed that yet.
I just couldn't stomach the price tag on the Law Tactical Folding Buffer Tube Adapter.

I'm making up a box of various kinds of factory ammo I've picked up over the years. Actually, two boxes. One for each boy. I won't have time to shoot it and they might.
Also opening the safe after everyone else is comatose from the Christmas and let them each choose something from the pieces inherited from family members.
Not exactly what the OP meant but I lack for nothing but time.

Nuttin', honey. I can't get out and use what I already have right now. In fact I have not done anything firearms related since late spring. My life is currently as boring as dirt. Here is hoping the coming year will bring me improvement.
I hear you. This year and 3 operations has tethered my firearms activities. Getting old is not for the feint of heart. Merry Christmas all.

>>>> Quite frankly, the gift was the ----:) repair:thumbup:---- of my (Century) L1A1 Sporter FAL with the best FAL gun smith in America.
I had bought the rifle last August.<<<<<

That was the main gift. The gas system finally works normally (it was a bolt-action) and now having a barrel Washer which was Missing:eek: (the smith unscrewed the barrel by hand!), the sights are perfectly aligned.

It looks exactly like this, except for a wooden carry handle. The world-class repairs by smith Mark Graham  (he owns ARS in Arizona) made the rifle very functional again.

I never get gun stuff for Christmas or birthdays, so I just buy it myself when I need or want it. :D

Stay safe.

Same boat, so I ordered my self a Leupold VX3HD 1.5-5 Illuminated "Twilight hunter". When it arrived I handed it to my wife, so she could hand it back to me, and at least say Merry Xmas. I did order her a new pair of hiking boots while she looked over my shoulder to ensure I got the right ones.

I'm also going to get a sausage stuffer, but will wait till the post Xmas sales..

My Christmas got here early at the expense of losing a shooting buddy. I'm helping his son get rid of his reloading stuff, among which were shot shell primers, shot, wads, and powder. I bought what I could and sold the rest all at fair prices. It was nice that he had dated everything and had the original price tags on them. Some sold for more than he paid a few years back but were fair.
I'm set for at least three years of shooting in three trap leagues.
Still have some reloaders to move yet.

Being Santa, I gave myself a 1943 High Power with accessories and a Remington 1100 in .410.
-And access to our local police firing range.
Ho, ho, ho!

Hello Santa,

I can’t believe my luck to find your actual contact information, and to think here of all places! Anyway, for Christmas I would like a S&W 686-4 Plus with a 4” barrel. I’ve been good…well, I’ve been not bad. OK, just ignore that part. To go with the revolver, I would also ask for a couple 1,000 bullets, and, of course, primers. Lots of primers.

Your True Believer,

It’s nothing impressive by any stretch, but it has some capability to do things that I otherwise would not be able to do. 7/8 spindle bore is it’s biggest limitation as far as gun related projects go.
