A LGS has had one hanging on the wall for almost 2 months now, when I first saw it I was surprised considering how scarce they are, and when I saw it still there today, I decided to take it. I've wanted one for a few years now only because I think it's interesting. I figured now was as good a time as any, and it was there for the taking. It's a Glock 17 version, and I've aleady got plenty of mags. I know I overpaid a little, but less than what I see used ones going for online. So anyway, merry Xmas to me. Can't wait to shoot it.

I had one in .40 s&w. Definitely a fun gun. My only complaints were that the sights are mediocre in my opinion, and believe it or not the recoil on the .40 s&w version is a bit uncomfortable after shooting many rounds (tiny hard plastic butt, and gun is only about 4 pounds.). Loved how compact it was when folded up. I sold mine to finance a new shotgun and i miss it sometimes. Mine get another someday, but in 9mm instead. Good luck with yours and enjoy!

I have the same model and have added a foam bolt tube cover, extended butt pad and the front lower rail for a light. It's a fine little go anywhere carbine.

Nice score. I've been waiting for one for a while, but it's never come up at the right time.

The Sub-2000 is a great BOB gun and they can go almost anywhere.
They are good for 100~125 yards. The big plus is that they can match your
pistol caliber.
I have a 9 & 40 and have a blast each time I shoot them.

Around here they don't last long in the LGS.

Lateck,

I used to own one in 9mm and enjoyed it quite a bit. I parted with it because, over time, I just didn't use it much and it became more of a novelty than something I had a use for. I believe it's a great little carbine if you need/want one!

They're fun - and you have what I'd consider nearly the most desireable model, too (the only one that beats it would be the Glock19 version)

First you need a cheap laptop bag to toss it in, look for one already set up for cords and batteries and the like, you can stuff mags in those slots also.

All I've done to mine is swap to the low-profile fore-end, I keep thinking about upgrading the front sight, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

They're rather novelty. But, they sell and that's what matters.

Congrats OP, hope it runs for you.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to load up the Hi Points.:D

I've noticed a few things with this gun that I'm curious about.

First, when folding the gun in half, the detent in the buttstock doesn't perfectly align with the track in the front sight base that it locks into. I've read that canted front sight bases aren't uncommon with these. The sight doesn't look canted when unfolded, I guess I'll find out for sure when I shoot it.

Second, the trigger guard does not lock into place on its own when unfolded, I have to manually push it rearward into place. The manual states that it it should snap into place on its own.

Lastly, the instructions say that the bit in the sight adjustment tool is reversible with a hex head on the other side, however I cannot pull the Philips head out of the tool, even with 2 pairs of pliers, am I missing something?

Any insight on these issues is appreciated.

Mine did the same thing with the buttstock detent and the front sight not lining up perfectly when initially folded and it wasn't an issue for me, I just had to line it up properly with my fingers and it would lock into place. However, my trigger guard did always snap into place on its own when unfolded. Cant comment on the sight tool since i never tried using it.

9mm. I've had it for 15 yrs, probably haven't shot it in at least 5 years. I can't remember ever having a malfunction. The Sub2000 just appeals to me more because it folds and takes Glock mags.
The ability to use Glock mags are what I liked.

The folding...lets just say I'm not impressed.

I have one of the newer 9mm HPs, and I AM a fan of those. But, I wish you luck with your new addition.

1 - Mine needs to be manually placed into the "lock" position, too, it shoots fine. Obviously the front sight needs to be in place for shooting more than easy fold-up
2 - That's odd, clean out in there and see if it breaks in with a few dozen cycles. Is the gun locked into the infolded position before you manually snap the TG into place?
3 - There's a phillips head in there? (sorry, never looked for one, I just use a screwdriver ... in fact I haven't even seen that tool in a while)

I put 170 rds through it yesterday. Only minor sight adjustment was needed to zero it. The first 100 rds of WWB ran flawlessly, then I switched over to Aguila 115gr, and had two stovepipes out of 70 rds. The Agulia feels under-powered, even in comparison to WWB, so for now I'm going to blame it for the malfunctions. My POI shifted dramatically between the WWB and Aguila, which was a little annoying considering the sight isn't the easiest to adjust, because in the process of adjusting for windage it seems nearly impossible not to inadvertently adjust the elevation. Also, the trigger guard now snaps into place as it supposed to, it just needed a little lube on the hinge points.

This gun is FUN to shoot! It's also one dirty SOB, I couldn't believe the filth on the bolt head, worse than an AR after that many rounds. I'm curious how, if at all, people clean the inside of the receiver, seems nearly impossible to get in all the areas towards the front.

It is a direct blowback gun, after all.
I clean in there with swabs and sprays the best I can, I'm sure I miss some of the crud.

Not sure if you tried to field strip it yet, but the bolt can be tricky to put back in during reassembly. I could not reinstall it for the life of me until i read this link: http://www.thektog.org/forum/f85/sub2000-bolt-out-cant-get-back-232854/

I had to use a small wooden dowel inserted from the front side to press down on the cocked hammer slightly in order to have enought clearance to get the bolt back in. You might not have trouble with yours but i figured I'd just give you a heads up.

I do experience resistance when trying to reinstall the bolt, but a little more forward pressure and jiggling of the bolt handle moved it into place.

I just back the bolt off a few inches from the point of resistance and give it a gentle bonk forward with an open hand, it slides into place nicely.
