Receiver cover scope mounts aren't worth what you pay for them. They are comparatively flimsy and will not hold a zero.

They make for a crappy scope mount, but I use one as my regular dust cover sans scope because it's so much beefier than the one that came w/ my Maadi.

It's an ugly gun.

Yes and no. The "standard" dust cover mount, where you take your run of the mill AK and your run of the mill dustcover and just bolt a sight to it are generally not that hot. However, there are some beefier dustcovers and when you mate them to a receiver designed to hold them tight, they can hold zero...at least until you take them off to clean the rifle.

I have a KTR that uses this sort of system. The dustcover is TIGHT, and once it is on, it is not drifting anywhere. However, if you take it off to clean the rifle and replace it, your zero shifts. This is especially a pity when you consider that the KTR is accurate enough to show your POI shifts very clearly. :uhoh:
