After asking alot of questions and firing a few friends shotguns, I finally decided on a Remington 870. I just wanted to thank all those who provided input on my decision. I think I will be very happy for a very long time w/ this rifle! Thanks THR!!!

Now, you have the rest of your life to try to wear it out. I will wager that you can't...maybe your 2nd or 3rd generation of grandkids will.....

Now that you have it you have to try to wear it out this will require you to use it as often as you can.:neener:

Take care of it and it will be a shotgun your grandkids will enjoy the 870 is a well proven design going back to the late 1940s and still going just as strong today.

You chose a winner.:D

Another nitpick: It's a shotgun, not a rifle. Unless maybe you got the kind with rifle sights and a rifle barrel. ;)

You chose well, but you couldn't go wrong with any of the top quality pumpguns. Rem, Win, Ithaca, heck even the inexpensive Mossy. All will likely out live you and your grandkids. The 870 is nice because of all the accessories made for them.

Great choice on the 870.

I have only shot about 2,500 rounds through mine, but my brothers has around 20,000 and they only get better with age.
