BREAKING: Judge blocks Illinois' gun ban for more than 860 who sued

Wow, freeloaders & commenters don't get a free ride! Whodathunkit!
We had a very large issue at work and many, not all, staff wanted to file suit. Of course, some were commenting to the effect, not put up any $ but ''reap the benefits''. So, our attorneys wrote the complaint for ''only listed parties'' or some words like that.

Not involved since I live away from that unfortunate state... If I were involved I'd have wanted that suit to include every possible citizen infringed by the state's action.... but I guess they know best, maybe...

Like that fictional character Harry Bosch - either everyone counts - or no one counts... but I'm just another retired cop...

I would think volunteer employment at a private company to be a bit different than the enforcement of laws over the constituents of a state. Very different than ponying up millions for a lawsuit against a whole state, with a bottomless coffer.

Is every officer supposed to have a list of the 860 illinoisans who can carry normal pistols?

I assume Illinois has no problem with two classes of citizenry, Chicago doesn’t, obviously.:scrutiny:

Everyone counts, or the lawsuit is just an erroneous tax to limit carry to those with the funds for suits.

I guess they didn’t file as what would be the equivalent of a class action.

On the other hand, kind of narrow granting of rights for an action against a public entity.

Not surprised. Remember how crooked that state is. They are not going to offer it to more then they have to.

What is really funny is that the Pritzger family is opening a gun range and sporting clays course in Wisconsin. Our governor doesn’t want his subjects to have guns but encourages ownership and use next door where he goes to play.
Height of hipocrisy.

860 people just helped drive a wedge, a big wedge. Mite have been more if more people knew about it. Mite have been more if more people could afford it. Why wasn't every one included. You wonder why we are divided.

I don’t know but since the ISRA was one of the initiators of the suit and I’ve been a member for years that maybe I’m covered. Hoping.

ISRA filed their lawsuit in Federal court.
The lawsuit filed by Thomas Devore (860 Plantiffs including some gun dealers) was filed in an Illinois Circuit court.
Thomas DeVore is getting ready to file a 2nd lawsuit with way more than 860 plantiffs.

I'm still on the e-mail list of a LGS in Illinois. They filed a TRO in federal court which if granted will apply to all gun owners in Illinois pending the resolution of the lawsuit they're filing.
