Anyone have any ideas on how you would prevent this in the future. Kind of a difficult problem to solve without losing more soldiers in the future. And NO, you cannot simply blow away any vehicle approaching when it is 500 meters away.
Further evidence that some of these people are fanatics. Big surprise.
The jobs our men and women are being asked to do over there is as tough as any I can imagine. They have to face regular troops with civilian garb over their uniforms, civilians being used as human shields in front of infantry, booby traps and sooner or later poison gas and anthrax and who knows what else.
I would hazard a guess that some to many of the civilian deaths in Bagdump are being caused by the government rather than our weapons missing their intended target.
To say the people fight dirty is an understatement.
The more we try to differentiate between good and bad over there the more of our people will be killed while in the decision making process. It's a war.
We will not win this thing unless we take the gloves of completely with all that means. Yep civilians will be killed.
Some may think there is a middle ground, an option for partial victory. If those people have small children at this time they can look forward to sending that generation over there in a few years to do this a third time. It's not my opinion, it's the way of the world.
Makes you realize why the Israelis act the way they do sometimes. Granted it was a friendly fire situation but to me it seemed like overkill at the time but when you realize that you aren't trying to stop a car but trying to stop a car bomb from going off, a couple hundred bullets don't really seem excessive.
Really difficult to prevent bombers from blowing themselves up, along with those around them.
I know the media calls these people "Suicide bombers" or "Homicide bombers", but I do not agree with this politically correct description put out by the far to the left media such as; The New York Times or MSNBC. These bombers are terrorist and blowing ones self for a political reason and killing other people in this way is an act of terrorism.
In my opinion it is time for all people to insist on calling these acts of political terrorism by their proper name, "Terrorism", "Terrorist Bombers".
Honor our soldiers who gave their lives to free oppressed peoples. Honor our military and remember them.
