I traded for a basket hilt broadsword. Supposedly 1700's blade, re-hilted in the late 1800's with a recent nicely done scabbard. Any sites, books, etc. for researching this and its markings? Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the site info. Basket is brass and follows the 19th century British military pattern. It was cast(?) flat and then folded and brazed into shape. Researching this is turning into a neat little project.
