I Aquired This Bowie Knife Recently in A Trade. To Be Honest I Am Thinking It is going to be a Keeper. I am Having trouble finding out much history on the knife. Knife is Hilt marked Italy. The Sheath is Marked Made in Germany. From online research I have Done the company was originaly started in Italy and moved to Germany and also Florida USA. They produced Switches, Picklocks, Steletos, Bowies, And Cheap Guns. It is one of the few Bowies I have seen that has a sharpened back point edge. I also can not tell what the handle material is. It looks to be Horn but I am not Sure. Seen some of thier Steletos with similar handles described as horn. I am guessing that it dates back to early 50s or earlier. I did See A Very Badly Rusted out one on Ebay. But Really can't compare due to th Very Bad Condition of it Any Help greatly appreciated. Thanks

You're correct on both points. The handle is horn and the knife is likely 1950s. More than that, the guard us unusual because it isn't an oval disc. Can you post a picture as close as you can get a clear image of the guard?

sharpened back point edge

FYI "swedge" either sharpened or unsharpened. That is a sharpened clip swedge to knife nuts.

BTW, I have an EIG imported E15 .22 revolver that belonged to my wife's grandmother.

Thanks for that Info it was more than helpfull. I will try to get a closer picture of the gaurd, It appears to be all one solid peice. I really Like this peice. It is one of the Coolest Bowies That I have Seen In My opinion for what it is worth. Looks great in my Collection. Think I will Keep it. Seen a junker on ebay. I was tempted make it a project knife. Just dont know if it is within my experties to salvage it. If I can get it cheap enough I might give it a try. Real Shame to see it get wasted.
