I found one at a local shop today and handled it for the first time. Wow, is all I can say. I know "fit" is something we search for diligently in shotguns, and it absolutely felt the best of any shotgun I have ever handled. Snapping it to my shoulder put the rib in perfect alignment left/right and up/down. The beads were perfectly stacked in an 8.

Since it is a skeet gun, I am sure it would be great for skeet. But, what about sporting clays (of course with different chokes)? Would you rather shoot SC with a trap gun that fit you or a skeet gun that fit you? Why or why not? Thanks.

Skeet and sporting generally overlap each other for gun set-up. My 'skeet' gun is a Beretta 682 Supersport which handles skeet targets very well. I keep a separate trap gun as a M12 Winchester set up specifically for trap.

I'm sure that Browning will serve you extremely well if you decide to make the plunge.

The skeet gun made today , is the better choice for skeet and clays.

Skeet is fired with gun already on shoulder.

Clays starts gun down.

When you bring the 725 to shoulder, like in sporting clays, it should not bang into the face.

The very early Citori skeet guns had the same high comp stock as the trap guns. Starting with gun down , did not work well.

Compare the difference in stock dimensions here. http://www.browning.com/products/firearms/shotguns.html

If you are mostly going to be shooting Sporting Clays with it, a Skeet gun will be a better choice than a Trap gun. A good shotgunner can do all three with a Skeet or SC gun, dang few can do all three with a Trap gun.

The 725 skeet gun would be fine for SC and trap as long as it fits.
My trap gun fits very well but is THE wrong gun for anything other than trap. I can easily shoot trap with my skeet gun. As long as I'm holding my mouth right the scores are about the same too.

I use my browning 20 ga XS skeet for all the clay games, with the adjustable comb and choke tubes it takes only a minute to make the changes.
