BROWNING B80 CHOKES WANTED

Hi guys,
I have an old browning B80 with the chokes that slide into the barrel and the outside of the barrel is threaded to hold the chokes in. I only have the full choke for it, I would like to buy the other chokes.

Has anyone got any?

A beretta 302 I bought also has this configuration, It is called an " International" style, I think. ANY beretta barrel from a al-2,300,301,302,303 will work. I'd like some of the choke tubes also, if anyone knows of a source. BTW~mine is a 12ga, never ,ever have seen a 20ga with this choke, but I'd like to buy one.

I'm still looking- just in case anyone missed this post the 1 st time around.......... kinda snowed in today, OKC is NOT the place to be right now. I want to go hunting SOOO bad, but cannot get up the slope to the pickup.

The Browning B-80 uses the "Invector" choke tubes. This should be noted on your B-80 barrel

I just did a keyword search on Ebay for "Invector" and there are a few dozen current auctions.

Don't confuse the "invector" choke tubes with "Invector Plus" or "Invector +" because they are too long for the B-80.

The Invector choke tubes were an earlier version of tubes that work in Browning shotguns. Invector Plus came along after.

There are also several companies that make aftermarket versions of choke tubes for all brands. One of these aftermarket brands is named Hastings.

"20yearvet The Browning B-80 uses the "Invector" choke tubes. This should be noted on your B-80 barrel'. uk roe hunter & I have a barrel that uses a choke that literally drops into the barrel counterbore and is retained with a nut. The OUTSIDE foward end of the barrel is threaded as opposed to the normal practice of threading the inside of the barrel and the choke tube. The choke tube I'm looking for is NOT threaded ANYWHERE- the retaining nut positions and locates it in the bore of the barrel. These choke tubes have a square shoulder on their foward end, a "lip" that is approx 1/8" wide and 1/8" tall. I believe, but don't know , these ckoke tubes were offered on beretta 302 shotguns and the rebaged browning B-80's. The only discernable difference between the Al-2 and the final evoloution of the "300" series is the mag cutoff and the choke tubes. Browning B-80's utilized several variations of the venerable Beretta "300" series shotguns, but never distinguished between the models as Beretta did. I have several B-80's, 2 with invector chokes and 2 with beretta chokes. They all came NIB. go figure..... I have a beretta A-302 that I bought from the used rack at GENE SEARS in El Reno, OK that uses a Beretta "International" drop in choke tube. This "International" choke tube is the type I am looking for.

Berettashotgun: My apologies - I have just learned something! I have never seen the configuration that you described. When was your B80 manufactured? Did this configuration run parallel to the B-80 models that I have that take the invector chokes?

A B-80 has a beretta built barrel, it will have a circled PB or outright beretta stamp on it. The trigger group and all associated lingage will interchange. The mag tube is kinda different,but the mag cap(although different) will interchange on mine. I cannot remember the exact year I bought these B-80's, some were new/old stock, but the year of manufacture run concurrently with beretta published manufacture dates for the various 300 series. That said, I actually like the B-80's squared recievers- from the illustrations of a beretta 304 it is as close as I will ever get to owning a 304 Beretta. I have decided that I'll always keep the drop in choke barrel- just because it is unique and different.

According the the serial numbers, my 12 Ga B-80 was made in 1987 and my 20 Ga was made in 1986. Mine both have the Beretta barrels.

Any chance you could post a picture of yours? I'd like to see the overall configuration and also the specific choke set-up.
