I have Browning BAR 3006 Mark 1
(I assume because it just has no mark on it whatsoever on the receiver)
And I have a Browning BAR 7 mm but I'm not sure what version of it is but I assume it's a mark 2 or 3 because it has the Boss.

My understanding is that they act as a muzzle break but also allow for dialing accuracy for Specific ammo. They also make the rifles loud as I understand.
