Very nice setup. I have a 6.5 CM predator myself (the older type w/ the weird magazine). I've only fired mine out to 400, and I have noticed that it does its best to imitate legit sniper systems I used in the military- because it shoots sub MOA, which is even better than a few of the SWS rifles I used in the mil. With off the shelf Federal nontypical SP ammunition. Which is pretty amazing for a rifle I paid $424 OTD for. Its def. my best performing hunting rifle- even though its an ugly duckling in the rack next to my 94 or my 700 in a laminated stock. The deer don't seem to mind what the rifle that drops them looks like though.

Very cool. I’m interested though, as you only showed shooting to 1 mile once. So how many times did you shoot at the mile target before giving up? ;)

You showed that one that was “close but no cigar”, as you said. I’d bet there were several other Mike attempts that weren’t so close, eh? It’s like I keep saying: 1 mile and further is a whole different creature! Extremely competent shooters, even with Magnum cartridges, do not hit a standard target with ease. And it’s not something easily duplicated shot after shot.

Great stuff though partner. Still quite a lot for the money you invested. Economical & accurate! My hats off to you sir.

Here are my attempts at 1,730:

You see what I meant though I hope. Out of those 9 or 10 shots I would guess that “group” to be like 6-8 feet in diameter! The tiniest bit of wind, the tiniest bit of rifle cant.. It’s difficult enough to hit. But to hit it 2, 3, 5 times consecutively? Unbelievably difficult! Not something many can do, regardless of rifle & caliber. I sure can’t do it. Save for maybe walking ‘em in and some luck…like A LOT of it!

Great shooting though partner. At 1000yds your rig is money!

Good shooting. 1,000 yards plus seemed quite easy with that rifle.

Seeing this reminds me of the Social Regressive YouTuber and some of his builds. He did a 1 mile $1,000 rifle build as well as a few others. If I remember correctly he tried a $500 1.000 yard build with less success. It worked but it was not ideal and when he shot on a match with it the weak points of the build took their toll on his score.

It is not easy to hit a mile shot with regularity and even harder on a budget. However I think you are knocking on the door!
