I've shot Federal Premium 150 gr Barnes TSX for years. But I guess Federal no longer loads Barnes.
I looked at getting Vor-tex but I can't find it locally. Apparently I'm not the only person who likes the 308...

Anyways I managed to find three boxes of the Buffalo Bore Supercharged TTSX and was wondering if anyone has shot them. They claim to be a little faster than the Barnes ammo.

Haven't shot an elk yet with Barnes but I've lost count of the deer I've taken. Even with my 22-250!

Have you tried the Hornady GMX? They have been extremely accurate in my rifles.

One store had a few boxes the GMX. I've used the Superperformance in my wife's 243 and my 22-250. Works great. I just wasn't sure about the GMX being a Barnes guy.

Sounds like someone needs to look into handloading.

I handled for my 22-250 and 243 for prairie dogs. I used to be able to get the Federal Barnes for cheaper than loading. By the time I add up trips to the range doing load development and what not. It was more practical to buy factory to shoot a couple deer.

However I'll be buying some Lapua brass in 308 and bullets. That is if I can even find 30 cal
components.

Really thinking about switching to a 6.5 Creedmoor! I can find a ton of 6.5 stuff and loaded ammo is a lot cheaper and available. Plus it's flatter shooting...

The GMX is billed as having the structural intergirty to take anything in North America. Due to the gilding metal, it is harder than a Barnes bullet, and is supposed to cause less barrel fouling. I have several boxes of factory SuperFormance, and several boxes of GMX projectiles for reloading.

I take it you are referring to the bullet type? I would still be comfortable shooting the A-MAX at those velocities. There are always better bullets out there, but this one gets the job done.
