Found a nice deal on a Bushmaster AR15 with the 11.5/5.5 welded flash supressor" barrel locally. I was looking for opinoins strictly on this model. Would this short length of a barrel hinder in plinking out to say 150 yards or so? As of late I have wanted an AR, and a EBR for plinking and this local deal is rather nice based upon my brief amount of research (price is very attractive).

I would thing you'd be fine.Pretty sure a bunch of the militaries M4's are only 10.5" barrels, and I'd have to think the arent having any issues with accuracy out of that barrel length (at least to 150yds, as thats not really all that far for something with the velocity and flight path of .223) , or they wouldnt be using it.Maybe one of our resident grunts (or lucky SBR owners) can answer that one better.

For 150 yard shooting the set-up you describe would work fine.
Beware that the flash suppressor builds up A LOT of carbon deposit inside and you have to keep it clean to maximize accuracy potential.

When I had my own shop, the 11.5"/5.5" model was one of my most popular selling Bushmasters.
