Just shot a CAS match with my OutlawKid tuned Army. Functioned perfectly, no misfires or jams. I even used paper cartridges I made using his method. Probably won’t make those again though, they were a lot of work.
Good job Kid!

Wait...holy cow it just now hit me. My work has been in a COMPETITION! Thats a big step for me and quite the compliment and pat on the back. I figured my work would suit the average joe....never expected it to be used in competitions etc. Its freakin great to hear the gun did well in front of others lol.

Yes the Dance Brothers pistol. I loved the look and history of this gun. Now I like the way it shoots even more

I ended up getting contacted by someone who said you referred them. Thank you! Very Much appreciated...he said he knows you from Facebook and that you told him about the work i did for you and he is very interested and wants to send me a gun to work over. Thanks again Russell!

I’m happy to help

Took the Walker TheOutlawKid tuned, to the range, video won't download from phone to my computer, but it worked fine and was a real joy to shoot, hammer is much easier to cock, but all caps fired 100% of the time, trigger is light and crisp. Great job TheOutlawKid!

Mr.robhof im very glad to hear you enjoyed the gun i worked for you and that you took the time to give feedback. Much appreciated!

Lol! Yeah, where?!!
I suspect a little strring of the pot . . . (lol !!)

Mr. Kid - what sort of therapy do you give the hammer cam and bolt arms? What do you and others do to maximize those parts interaction?

Mr.Eyrie im gonna have to refer you to my lawyer who states its proprietary informartion limited to only executives of The Outlaw Kid Inc. Lol jk... Well it actually depends on the gun. The cam has to be fitted properly to the bolt arm and the bolt arm thinned if possible or just right and polished if required. Angles must be met and also make sure things that are supposed to make contact are and those that arent supposed to make contact arent making contact. Its different for all guns. Some need the bolt shortened and others are too short and need replacement. Also the part that rests on the cam may need adjustment so it doesn't eat away the cam. Cam angle as wel may need adjustment. Its different for all guns...some guns i just replace the bolt because some customers may do their own maintenance and ruin it...so i just start over. I take disassemble and reassemble the gun many many times doing these tests making .001 adjustments at a time. Like 50-60 times isnt uncommon for me. Mike has a lot more experience and performs actual magic or voodoo on guns (atleast thats what im convinced of)...so i cant speak for him lol, but thats what i do. But all guns are individuals and different things get done. Some actions i do on one gun wont be needed on another and might ruin it. I will say tho...one thing i notice about some guns sent to me is that they are "dry". They arent well lubed internally with a good synthetic grease like Mobil1 and/or on the cylinder pin/arbor. This makes for a lot of wear and tear and causes breakdown or the complete ruin of cams and bolts...and other parts. So...one tip i tell everyone is to pack the internals with a good high temp SYNTHETIC grease...i prefer Mobil1. Its black powder compatible. And really oil/grease your arbors to help that cylinder spin easier with less friction. This alone will improve performance and keep the guns guts from getting tore up.

TheOutlawKid, I don’t have a C&B revolver but, if I did, I would send it to you and would hope you might charge a fee for your work, based on the feedback in this thread alone. I am pretty sure you wouldn’t lose any customers.

Thank you mr. X62503! Lol about the fee...i do charge. At first i didnt but that was because i had no credit to my name. I mean for all the customer knew i was some shady character who was gonna just keep their gun and theyd never hear from me or i would send them back a ruined piece. So...i had to show folks what i could/would do, and im glad a few folks took that risk and provided honest feedback of their experience. Like my first customer mr.powdermark...he took a huge risk. So i thank him to this day. Also russell, and they both gave me feedback that helped me build some credit amongst the community. So im thankful to everyone whos given me a chance...as they also helped me in return with my daughters extra therapy. Everyones happy in the end lol.

I sent a 1860 army to the outlaw kid a couple weeks ago for a tune up. He received it on Saturday an did his magic to it an it was back in the delivery van to me on Monday. I got it on Thursday. It was like a different pistol. Smooth as bear grease on a door knob. The man does excellent work an his turn around time an communication is above an beyond. One of my other 1860s went to another gunsmith for the same treatment an he had it for 11 an a half months. My Ruger old army is at the same place an its been there now for 13 months. I cant begin to tell you how nice it is to send one to someone an get it back before you forget what it even looks like. I highly recommend the outlaw kids work an will send out a 1860 sheriffs model to him tomorrow for the same treatment. A huge thanks for the Outlaw kid

Wow thank you for the feedback! Makes me feel like im contributing to a hobby i love and helping others have a better shooting experience. Real glad you joined the forum just to give feedback...but you should definately stick around...most of the folks here are good people with a common interest. I do strive for customer service and satisfaction. Ive only yet to send one gun back immediately but thats cuz it has a lot of problems and am scrounging for parts on a pocket gun (please believe im working on it mr.robhof, will do my best to get it all worked for ya). Also a huge thanks to Russel as he was the one who referred you...hes on here as Russell13 and i believe he referred me to you from facebook or somethin. But thank you for giving me the opportunity to work your guns...its a privilege to work another enthusiasts gun.

The day may come when your turnaround time is measured in weeks rather than hours Kid! Take good care of your already good reputation, you’re on the right track...

Mr.woodnbow thank you and i will heed your advise old wise one lol. It would be nice to have work set up where the turn around time may be a week or two at most...i personally wouldnt make a person wait too long...so if i cant do it within a timely manner i will let them know...but if that day comes i think id change my policy to "ya dont gotta pay until its ready to ship" that way it will show them that if i wanna get paid ill get the work done faster..just would seem fair to both of us or maybe half now half upon completion lol. It would be nice to do this full time or atleast 5-8 a week..i dont think id be making customers wait more than my current time frame untill im doing atleast 14 a week....then they may have to wait up to 3 days to get their gun done. I dont like sitting on work so as soon as i receive a gun i let the customer know and i start working on it immediately and wont stop until its done...that way work doesnt stack on me and nothing gets put on the back burner, i also feel it shows the customer that i appreciate their business and they are getting personalized attention. Im going to try and keep it my policy for as long as i can...i dunno if id ever get big enough to be one of them famous well known in demand tuners but i can always dream! For now im happy and grateful for what little i get!

TheOutlawKid,
Maybe you can set up one of those freebie or low cost websites/webpage so that folks can easily be referred to you.
On another site, I sent someone a personal message telling him to come to this forum to contact you.
But if you had a web page that a link could be posted to, then anyone reading would have learned about your services.
You wouldn't need to post any private info. that you didn't want to, maybe just an email address linked to a domain name, or some other email to contact you.
Weebly is one of those hosting sites, but there's a lot of them. --->>> https://www.thehighroad.org/index.php?threads/building-stocks-again.843624/#post-10967569

Haha! Summertime in Texas maybe!

And I am an old fart, I live at over 7500 feet elevation and I can tell you, fall is right around the corner here, nights are getting colder and we’ll see snow before the month is out... (I hope so, makes getting our elk a whole lot easier.)

Of course I’m just spoofin’ I have no complaints, (gripes, moans, pains here and there.) But no complaints!

But once winter sets in, I may come a knocking on your door!
